Help.. Need new front wheel....

Postby b_mason » Sun Sep 07, 2008 10:23 am

I had a minor accident with my Sprint. While going home Friday night I hit an unmarked construction zone. They cross cut the road with strips about 3 feet wide across the road. I was not able to slow down enough before entering the cut. The lip on the other side sent me air born from the seat impacting my tushy. Saturday while at work I was doing some lite maintanance work. I was lubing the chain and made a mess on the tire. So I washed the bike(surprise Hank) When I went to the front wheel I saw the damage. .....The wheel is bent to a point where the lower part of the bead is showing! There is a crack in the finish, not sure if it is the wheel or just paint damage. Needless to say my riding season is over!!! the bike budget doesn't cover this type of problems. I am goin after the town since it is a town job not state. If anyone knows of a used front wheel for a 1996 Sprint 900 or any other style of wheels that will fit and where I might be able to find one, please, please let me know.

Thank you

Pretty bad that I am replying to my on post, but I have found a set of sprint wheels right here in Maine. The Mike (fearless leader of MEME) has a set he was thinking about getting rid of. Perfect timing, now I just have to mount and balance the tire on the new wheel. Thank you for looking Jimmy.

Nope, At 6'3" the scrambler would look like it was inside of me when I rode it. Micheal May has the scrambler.

I started reshaping the wheel today after the police would not file a accident report due to the lack of accident on the road. The town said they would only let me talk to the insurance company. The insurance company would only consider it, if the town was at fault. They wanted to see the police report. Sounds like a well rounded town defense. On the way home the town had installed road contruction signs and warnings. Fucking town can suck the fuzz off of my nut sacks!!!!!!!!!!!

I am trying to reshape the wheel without distortion. I worked on it for an hour and it has started to take shape. I think I will keep working on it. I pick up me new set of wheels thursday, Thanks to MIke Stackhouse. He has a front and rear wheel left over from his Sprint Exec. I think this is the time to powder coat the wheels to match or not match the bike. I'm thinking about a flat black wheel with the silver rotors and black calipers. Not sure yet.

IT LIVES, IT BREATHES!!!!!!!!!.

I put the wheel on today along with some D&D mufflers that Mike had laying around. It sounds great and I'm very happy that my season isn't over yet
