I Did a ride with Brian V this past Saturday. Met him in Bennington and did a nice loop from NY 22 North then cut over to 140 to 100 south. All in all a 425 mile day. A few weeks ago I did a ride with fellow vstrom riders in the White mountains. I'm trying to ride every weekend. Where to go next?

Funny you should ask, Marty. Just got back yesterday from a trip through Labrador, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia. Two weeks, 4000 miles. The Tiger did great on the Trans-Labrador Highway, and I finally got to explore over to the eastern side of Newfoundland. Amazing trip. I'll be posting up a ride report once I've had a chance to write it and process all the pics.

Hi Marty!
Great pictures- what a specatular adventure! You're like a Where's Waldo of Thunderbirds. :)

Our goal this summer was to camp/ride in every New England State, including New York- which we've done, with CT happening this month. Last weekend we camped out at and thoroughly enjoyed the Rythym and Roots Festival in Charelstown, RI. Such a great time- cajun, blues and zydeco from Friday evening through Sunday night. I highly recommend the jambalaya. And the Duhks stole the show.

For anyone that's interested, Heatherfest is this coming Sunday:

Great blues talent, worth the ride to Norton, MA.

Peace,
Paula

The weather finally broke this past weekend and Robin and I took the opportunity to go for a little ride. First day it did not go over 90 in the last 60 plus days I think.

Mr. and Mrs. Irishguy called and asked if we would like to go for a ride. Since we were already planning on a ride we said heck yeah. Took a nice scenic route up to northeast Alabama. Went through Gadsden AL and stopped at Noccalula Falls. Supposedly an Indian princess jumped from the falls to keep from having to marry a brave from another tribe instead of her true love.

From there we continued noth and east to Mentone AL for a late lunch at the Wildflower Cafe. The route to the cafe is the Lookout Mountain parkway. Mentone is the location of the only ski resort in Alabama. Don't know if they are ever open for skiing but just in case it doesn't snow the ski resort doubles as a golf course. We all had the brunch special which consisted of soup/salad, spinach quiche, tomato pie, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, a wee bit of steak and a dessert crepe. Excellent food.

After lunch we headed over to Desoto Falls. Apparently Henando was in the area a few hundred years ago and followed the Little River up to the falls. Little River created the Little River Canyon which is the deepest canyon east of the Mississippi. It was getting late so we didn't ride the canyon road but we had all done it before so it wasn't too much of a loss.

After the falls we headed back home still keeping wiht the scenic route and enjoying the rest of our ride. We did about 230 miles yesterday and had a wonderful time with some good friends, good food and beautiful scenery.

Did about 1,500 miles for Labor Day weekend, rode the LOLO PASS, HWY 12 in Idaho, over to Montana, Yellowstone and to Jackson hole for a Bison Burger on the way home. Got 65mpg for my best fuel mileage and 41mpg for my worst at around high speed. Pics soon.

 great to hear about all you road warriors and the miles and scenery you've been enjoying...I did about 2k in mileage over the Labor Day weekend...rode my Rocket down to Nashville and swapped with my son in law to get my KLR back up North where he belongs...My son in law thinks the Rocket is much more powerful and smoother than the big single Kawasaki...Of course he was always at the head of his class...pretty sharp young fella...Then I headed from there to Cincinnati for our annual Gold Wing ride in at a friends house....of course I never bring a Gold Wing as I feel they need to be educated on Triumphs....well at least the KLR was a bit different than the Wings.....I really liked the idea of having my nimble dirt bike back but wished for a bit more power...by the time I did 1100 miles on the Kawa I started looking for an 800 XC....I found a 2011 with 2k in mileage...brought it to the Noreast Triumph Rally last weekend and I have to say this is my new favorite....Triumph makes the perfect bikes for me

Been mostly riding my hacked Bonnie with my 9 year old. He's having a blast!
Heading off to WV and surrounding areas with a few of the boys I got to the Bash with next month. Then laid up for 3 months with major neck surgery. Gotta be healed in time for the next Bash! Lets see...............give up ski season or give up the Bash. Uh, simple!
