KIRKSIDE MOTOR LODGE FOR BENNINGTON BASH

Postby ATriumphGoddess » Fri Mar 26, 2010 2:24 pm

Hi Folks,
I've just spoken with the Kirkside Motor Lodge and here's the deal for this year.
They cannot reserve us a block of rooms due to another event on the same weekend as our Bash. HOWEVER:

DO please call independently ASAP to reserve a room, the rate will be $94 per night.
DO mention "Bennington Triumph Bash" when you call so that the lodge can give preference to us Triumph folk. The Kirkside said they would be delighted to continue have our business.

There are rooms with 2 double beds, queen and king beds available,

The phone number is: 802-447-7596
Location: 250 West Main · Street Bennington, Vermont ·

Peace,
Paula

cool, I reserved a room at the Knotty pine, and We have you in a Queen room with a microwave/fridge/coffe maker.
for 61.00 a night.
Do not know how many rooms they have left, but it is a couple miles northwest out of town, so not stumbling distance, but fits the budget.

I think I've pissed off the people at the Kirkside. The first year I made a reservation and canceled when I got a room at the Paradise. Then today I could not get a hold of the MidTown and made a reservation. Well I was then able to get a hold of the MidTown and make a reservation at almost half the price and had to call the Kirkside back and cancel again. Man was he ever curt with me on the phone. Didn't even need to give him my name before he hung up on me. Oh well I'm sure he will rent the room and maybe his prices should be more inline with the place he has. I mean almost 100 bucks a night is kind of steep. I've stayed in Boston at much much much nicer places for only about 25 bucks more. In the future I don't think he will take my reservations anymore. So be it. Its business nothing personal but it is also my money that I work hard to earn. If he wants to be that way to a group that has patronized his place for the last 2 years running then maybe next year no one will use his place. So I say screw em.Give us better rates and then maybe people won't go somewhere else.

He wasn't any to happy when I called at the beginning of the month inquiring about availability of rooms. My take was that he preferred guests going to the Bennington College Commencement. Fortunately for me the Paradise still had rooms so I grabbed one.

His rant was that the organizers should reschedule the event to another weekend.

Since it's commencement week, maybe we all should put tassels on our helmets?

You would think being in the HOSPITALITY business he would be more pleasant plus why is he complaining - he'll be full up that week!

Afterwards I checked him out over the net through some customer (guest) reviews and he got some pretty bad ones, i.e. "grumpy", "unreasonable", etc, etc.

Hey Billy I sent you a text but don't think ya got it. Was wondering what the name of the motel you stayed at. Won't likely camp this year as I'm planning on going up into the Adirondacks either before or sometime during the Bash and I don't want to have to break down and set up plus I could end up staying there overnight. I know ya weren't far from the campground and thats were I will likely spend most of my party time. Cheers, Todd
