I also hate it when people get lost... So I'll make sure someone else knows the way too. Also, we'll stop at the top (and maybe other places along the way) so people can go their own pace and catch up no problem.

Also, we'll have downloadable ride maps available on this site once we work out all the rides. This way people can print them out in advance and bring them along on the rides in case they want to do their own thing or whatever.

Jimmy - as you make it North you can link up with me and my wife and we can take RT 7 nice and slow all the way up there and there are so many beautiful little wifey towns that we will pass through. Trust me - I'm with you, if the wife is not having fun she will not go on another of these so I am dedicated to making this happen.

Your wives are going to love Vermont! They will be so impressed that hopefully they will want to attend other events in the very near future. LOL

Great rides, great people, great places to eat, things to see and do!

Thx Tito - I have been following your posts here and I'm a fan of your posts on the RAT. I live down in Stamford, CT which is 2 towns over from Norwalk where RT 7 begins. It is approximately 150 miles North through many, many sleepy New England towns and the ride shouldn't take more than 4 hours, going slowly, with the wife on the back. She really appreciates it when I keep it between 40-50mph, that way she feels safe enough to look around at the scenery instead of having to look forward to see where I’m going and sorta in panic mode; thus making the whole motorcycling experience so much fun that perhaps she will want to do it more often. I would love to link up with any riders going North on Friday morning May 30th to do a straight shot up RT 7 into Bennington. I’m pretty sure that MattRatt and wife will join us; Jimmy and wife seem to be already down. I will be open to any and all who would like to begin the weekend with this classic route which starts in Norwalk CT and continues all the way to Montreal! We can make a very convenient meeting place either on I-95 or the Merritt Parkway – both which connect to the very beginning of RT 7.

Just following along reading from time to time and it seems to me that this Bennington Bash is going to be great. Judging from the growing number of posters it seems to be a gathering of decent people coming together for a good times and memories. The downloadable maps would be a great thing to have for everyone...maybe even if there could be points of interests highlighted on them.

Excellent suggestion! I always like to recon any area I'm entering b4 I enter.

I'm also a sucker for maps; just open one up in front of me and my traveling blood immediately begins to boil.

LOL!! Same here....I thought...and had a pretty good idea of Ireland roads with the maps that I was studying before we arrived in September. Once there, the maps provided ideas and insight to the places (we) wanted to visit.

Jimmy - that's great! We will make plans as we get closer. I think we can assume that we will have quite a pack going North on RT 7 by the time the 30th roles around. :-)

Hedge I usually take Rt 8 north from Bridgeport when I take the ferry. We can connect over to 7 up in MA. I may go up a day early tho to visit the rents.

Benny - your on! I think it was you or someone else that said they hated RT 7 but after Danbury it is real nice. I'm open for ant route that works for as many people as possible. Bridgeport Ferry is about 20 min top from me.

Maybe some of us can join you folks coming up on Route 7. I plan on maybe being in Bennington on Thursday night. I am less than 90 minutes from Bennington.

Regardless we are going to have a great time. Bring your cameras! and your sense of adventure.
