Maybe I'll buy a HD?

I might be ready for another bike. I'll be keeping my Tiger for sure, though. Here's my short list- HD XR1200(X maybe), BMW F800GS, wait for the Tiger Cub or spend less and get a KLR650 or Honda XR650L. I'll probably wait for this Fall to do the deed.

Wide range there, Matt. You already have a great road bike and although the H-D XR1200 is the only one from them to buy it's the same thing in a general way-road only.
The others can cover varied terrain. I'd at least wait for the Cub to show up-my dealer friend said it's gonna be quite a bike.

The only problem Jim, is I don't trust anything first year from Triumph. I'm taking the HD for a road test tonight and the F800GS and probably the 650GS next week. Again, I might cheap out and just get a used KLR650 or Honda 650L. Did you trade UP yet???

No, not yet. The guy backed out as he was writing the check! A**wipe! Still working on it-the Tiger is all prepped and waiting for me!

I know what you mean about a first year bike but a 675 cub has to have the same motor that's well proven already-and tranny. I just spent 2 days with a Street 3 for fun and let me tell ya-what a BLAST. Wow. Gotta believe it's be great in a Tiger Cub.

Sorry to hear about the backout Jim...but as we know you can never count any deal until we have the check in hand...been through that a few times...

Matt, definitely wait for the Tiger Cub. At least see how much it's going to cost and what you get for the money.

The F800GS is a nice bike on paper, but I didn't like it when I test-rode it. Plus, it's been suffering from lots of quality control issues since it came out, and most people agree that its suspension sucks and needs replacing if you're going to do any offroad riding at all with it. The F650GS would be even worse since it has even cheaper suspension.

KLR650 and XR650L are both wicked underpowered.

When I replace my V-Strom next year or so I am looking at the following bikes so far

KTM 690 Enduro

Kawasaki KLR 650

BMW F800GS

I really want an ENDURO machine with a spare set of SUPERMOTO wheels and tires.

What are you going to do for touring, Tito?

The KTM would not be nearly as comfortable as the Strom for long-distance riding. The KLR would be too much of a slug. The Beemer has major quality control problems and sub-par suspension.

I think you should wait for the Tiger Cub too. :)

I'm still working on the 72 CB 500 for my long distance tourer. I bought that extra rack of carbs and the correct pieces are now in the correct places on the good set. Replaced the erroneous and upside down needle jet tube and some other parts that weren't quite right.

Pipes are next

Well I'm leaning towards the KLR650 but I see the Suzuki DR650SE is similar. I almost had a 2004 DR for $1650 but didn't move quickly enough.
