Ran my first half marathon yesterday. 13.1 miles in 2:08:27. Started running just about a year ago after watching the marathon.

Have lost 25 lbs and can still not believe that I can run 13 miles without falling over dead. When I started I was running about 3/4 of a mile before stopping. It was an incredible experience and a great high. I am already planning on running the whole 26 miles next year.

Congratulations on your accomplishment. I'd pass out just watching you run that far:)

I'm planning a trip to the Dragon the 1st week of May. If I come for the whole week I'll be sure to look you & Robin up. Maybe we could meet somewhere one of the days. If not, I'll see you in June.

Please let us know when you will be in the area. We are about 5 hours from the dragon. If it is possible we will neet you or if you plan on coming to Birmingham we will be happy to let you stay with us while you are in town.

Lovel, thats great man! Started running last year myself and ran a couple 5k's. Trying to run at least 3 miles every other day or so. Gonna run a 10k in the fall. Your 13.1 miles is quite an accomplishment in that short a time. Bet your bike goes faster now too:-)

It actually does go faster now. That extra weight gone is like a few extra HP.

I run between 5 and 8 miles 4 times a week. These old bones(46) work a lot better if I give them a rest every other day or so.

I was a little worried about the 13 miles but it was not bad. The kicker was the people giving away beer at mile 12 to the runners. I stopped and said, beer? ! ! ! ! She said, Beer. It was probably only 3 ounces but I said, hell yeah and walked over there and got mine. That gave me the kick I needed to finish.

Thanks for the congrats.
