Vermonter in New Jersey

A motorcycle shop in Freehold, NJ is reopening courtesy of a guy named Tim from Montpeiler. He took over a shop called Mr. Cycle Parts, which I believe sold mainly after market stuff for Milwaukee tractors. This guy is setting up to do fabrication - tanks, brackets, frames, etc. Apparently he is certified on Jap bikes but works on British stuff too. He may fabricate some foot peg brackets that will fit Hinckley twins in order to accept other pegs or change foot position.
I was rather struck that a Vermonter would move and set up shop in NJ. This state, except for the die-hard aborigines such as myself, is more likely a place to move from!
Oddly, he had not heard of the Bash. He has now.

CT is another state that people are moving out of, especially young profesionals. Too expensive to settle here. i even told my older son to consider getting out of the Northeast. I was considering moving to Asheville, NC but now I'm not so sure. I like the Northeast even though I'm not so fond of the winters. I guess I'll stick around for a while.

8) Mrs. Lucky and I were talking to a nice couple in Chili this morning who are all psyched to be moving to The Villages in Florida next year...they already have their home there and can't wait to get going...We're thinking of possibly heading to Nashville someday where our girls are...but that's down the road a bit

There are so many NJ expats (exstats?) here in VT, that unless some people volunteered to move the other way the balance of the universe would shift and the world would end. I just hope that they do the same thing in NJ that's happening here and try to make NJ more like VT, where they came from. Because:

a) It's only fair
b) I really really really want to go to a NJ (especially northern NJ) Town Meeting
c) NJ could use more bike shops; when I visit my folks, there aren't any nearby and the ones that are a drive away are pretty limited
(yup, I'm part of the NJ/VT imbalance problem).

LOL! The best way to make NJ more like Vermont is to shoot most - if not all - the politicians [not shoot-to-kill, just a bit of maiming or flesh wounds to drive them away]. I think they would thrive in places like Chicago.
