I'll be going up to Cullman AL on Turkey Day. About an hour north of Birmingham. If it is still nice I will ride. If not the cage will work.

Man, the drive down to DC yesterday sucked. Nasty traffic.

But once I got here, I was wishing I'd brought my motorcycle. 70 degrees down here today. Actually too hot...

I did okay for Thanksgiving dinner, but then on Friday I spent the evening with an old friend -- cocktails and appetizers before heading over to the restaurant, then more cocktails and appetizers at the restaurant, then dinner... I had to refuse dessert because I felt like I was going to explode.

Back in Vermont now. My mom sent me back with leftovers, of course, so I'll be repeating TG dinner for the next few days. Fine with me; her food is awesome.

I kind of want to get out the Honda and go for a ride today, but it's grey and unpleasant out so I'm not very motivated.

Still eating TG leftovers!

After looking at the thermometer all morning I decided that 39F and
partly sunny was not that bad. BRRRRRRR

The V-Strom was very eager to get going;

I started my ride on RT 144 to RT 30 North to 73 West to 74 east to
Cornwall to Rt 30 north where I saw 4 huge wild Turkeys too close for
comfort on the edge of the road to Middlebury. From there I took RT 7
south to RT 125 and over the Middlebury GAP! It was Icy, snowy and
slippery at the top and you guess it, cold! BRRRRR

From there I kept going at a very spirited pace onto RT 100 south all
the way to Killington and to RT 4 west pass Rutland and north on RT 30
in Castleton. BRRRRRR! And back home. I am really enjoying my wood
stove right now.

I rode 115 miles today, my goal was 100 so I was pretty pleased. I am
really looking forward to spring!

Yes I did TON UP twice!

Those are nice rides! My grandparents used to live in Salisbury, right next to the sand pile, across from the stinky chicken farm, so I've spent many a Thanksgiving in that area. Do you live in Castelton? Or near by? Isn't Wells over there too? Used to visit friends on Lake St Catherine (Katherine?) when I was a kid.

Beautiful roads!
