Hello everyone,
Just booked myself @ Paradise & looking forward to seeing you all the 'Bash again this year!
I'll be coming solo for the 1st time, so I'm saddling her up & riding - instead of trailering - lol!
Has anyone made the trip from PA without riding the slabs all the way?
My route plan is to come up through the DWG to Port Jervis & take Rt209 up to Kingston, cross the Hudson & make my over to NY Rt 22. Onward & up to Bennington from there. Guessing it's a 6-7 hour run that way from my home base in the Lehigh Valley.
I'd be grateful for any advice on this route from riders who have done this general trip before.
My little Bonnie is "highly allergic" to the tarmac on I-84, I-87, I-95, etc.

I've done most of that route, But I will probably do mostly slab just to get there. 209 north of Port Jervis seemed to take forever. My last time back, at least, was spent trying to beat weather, so I just slabbed it(yes, on a Bonnie). When are you going up? I may be convinced to take a more leisurely pace up......I come right through the LV, anyway....

I take that stretch of 209 when I ride down to the DC area to visit my parents. It's a much nicer ride than the slab, though it naturally takes longer. Not terribly much longer though, to be honest, as the mileage is a fair amount shorter.

Can't really advise much on the rest of the ride though. I live in northern Vermont, so I take I-87 between Kingston and the Lake George area. Going to Bennington you can obviously choose a nicer route on surface streets.
