Hello,
Any thoughts comparing affordable hotel room vs campground.....My Scouting days tell me to camp but my keeping it simple thoughts tell me to grab a room!? Anybody know pricing comparing the two. Or any other opinions comparing the choices
Thanks,
Bill

There's always a sizeable group of us up at the campground. It's a lot of fun up there. But there's also a big group at the Paradise Inn in downtown Bennington. Check the Lodging section of the BTB website for pricing info (click on the Bennington Triumph Bash logo at the top of this page to go to the main website).
By the way, if you want to be around the campground but prefer a bed to sleep in, there is hostel-style lodging available at the Greenwood campground lodge.

Again, thanks for the info. My Son may be riding also (2 Streets) and even though he was the scout and I was the leader, he most likely will prefer the Paradise (sounds good, doesn't it)
Thanks,
Bill

The best thing about the Paradise is it's in town, so if you want to have a few drinks at the establishments, you can walk back to the room. Also, don't have to worry about critters, as you're blasting back up rt 9 in the dark getting back to the campsite(you may not have cell service there either). I've done both, but I like being in town.

We always stay in the bunk room at the hostel. Be forewarned that two of us have bad sleep apnea and snore really loud, and my wife tells me I fart in my sleep. I have overcome the bedwetting, however. All in all, it is just like sleeping at home (minus the 75 pound labrador snoring in my ear).

Bring your warm jammies if your camping. Some years it was pretty damn cold out at night!

I've done both....and although I really enjoyed the campground fun I prefer to stay downtown because I am just not the camping type. Cost wise, I'd guess you can save around $60 a night by camping. See you there. We need more Mainahhhs.

I have a inkling I'll be at Midtown too. I stayed there once and the room was clean and updated. The Paradise is for all those "rowdy guys". I like to be in my room and sipping tea by 7 pm....oh crap that's what I tell my wife. I need to make my reservation soon at either place soon!

I stayed at the Paradise once and camped twice. This year, I'm staying at the Paradise.
Riding back and forth to the campground late at night is no big deal - but better left to the sober.
Camping with a good group of guys is fun, but you do have to deal with the weather. + you have to lug your crap through the campground to sneak into the lodge for a shower or a dump.
This year, I've decided that having your own king size bed, cable TV and a shower can be fun too.
