ufo?

was out early the other morning 4-ish...dogs tinkle and patrol the perimeter, I look at the stars. early to bed, early to rise...every morning, and saw a red light,

not strobe or blinking...just moving red light...looked to be at 35-40K feet where the long distance planes are...not a satelite...best logic bet is plane-ish...traveling NE overheard and just a couple degrees total travel seen.

a helicopter came over the hill similar or same direction low ...not a hospital run......likely pre-rush hour traffic copter loop to film the headlights.

just as the helecopter crested the hill into my sky view, the red light looked to me like it swooped up in a forward arc (same direction only an insane acceleration climb) and went out of my eyes sensory ability...it looked like a climb to me but at unholy speed...no solid concept to get my mind around...just an observation and no logic to anchor it on.

no clouds, cold thin winter air and good stars for around here...I did'n't find the red light again on the trajectory it otherwise would have continued...clear sky...maybe the light burnt out?...I don't have an explanation.

I've spent a lot of time outside buildings and never saw anything I couldn't reason...reports, hysteria, and TV ad sales have lead me to think anything ufo is military secret way advanced...I'm sure they have magic machines being tested when it's dark and we're not paying attention.

original red light looked like any plane at cruise altitude

tho the light was solid and didn't phase or pulse or strobe or blink...just a traveling plane looking light...no question it was there, looking like nothing.

the swoop up was the only way I can accurately describe that...arc, change of direction like when the periferal catches movement and the brain doesn't have a lock on it yet, but the reaction is in gear...looked like a swoop up at stupifying acceleration and disappearing into the distance straight "out the top".

I told my wife asap...if that's military machinery performance or "bogies", we may as well just jump into the Solient Green vat.

I finally saw something I can't satisfactorily explain to myself.

Many years ago I is similar experience on a summer evening returning home from work. i was a bright star late summer evening. I noticed a black hole in the sky. I watched as the black hole traveled across the sky, silently. Suddenly, the hole informed me that I should purchase Goodyear tires.

You have to be in the correct frame of mind to mistake the Goodyear blimp for a UFO. But in my defense, it was late at night, I was tired, and the blimp was not fully lighted.
Okay, it still sounds weird.

saw something this Am I can't explain again.

came up the stairs and let the dogs out while I smoked a cigerette. It was 5:05-5:08 Am...still dark but the sky was barely starting to lighten up. no drugs, no alcohol...and I'm not a superstitious emotional type.

I saw what looked like a full moon on the horizon of the hill out back, but thought it seemed too far south for the normal paths the moon travels.

walked to the left and saw the edge of it on the L of a tree truck. and it had 6 pinpoint dots of light separate to the L.

it's been wet so I'm thinking it's foxfire or St. Elmo's fire.

I watched it for 45-60 seconds then it just diminished in size (not intensity) and was gone. didn't go out like a flashlight with dying batteries...Intensity was about like a 25w bulb. it wasn't a hand held flashlight cause it didn't flicker or move. it just decreased in size and was gone...took about 4 seconds.

30 seconds later I heard an animal raising hell...wasn't a racoon...maybe a squirrel fight in mating season, but it sounded between a fox yelp and a bird chirp...lasted maybe 20 seconds, and my dogs alerted on the sound, but not the light.

when it got lighter to see, I had referenced my position on the wall behind me and the direction on tree leaves to find the follage was way too thick for it to be the moon thru the trees. in the light of day I could see it had to be about 150 feet away up the hill...behind a couple tree trunks but in front of the follage. there was nothing between the orb and me but 2 smallish tree trunks.

the 6 dots I can maybe explain away as foxfire, but the orb of light I can't find a rational explanation for.

what the hell did I see? my rational mind isn't getting around this easily.

I don't spook easily and my reaction was more curiosity than fear...tho I had no intention to investiate until it was light.

I don't mind rising before the rest of the world, but I would at least expect some solitude and normalcy. no noise but the animal sound and the light orb didn't go out like either a headlight or flashlight being switched off or a battery dying.

due to the follage, I have to estimate it was an unsettling 150 feet away from where I stood and at that distance the size would have been between 18 and 24".

what the hell did I see?...cause I don't have an answer.

Have you walked over to the area where you saw this? It might give you some clues. See if anyone has been messing around in your back yard.

First of all - this is all very common occurrences that have happened to me as well. However since I have been clean & sober now for over 18 years THEY have decided to visit others instead. Now the first night they were just probing and when they realized that you spotted them they decided that they needed to create a safe buffer zone so they will usually elevate straight up so that they can rapidly put distance between your normally aspirated vision and themselves. Now after they reached a safe distance between you and them they had a staff meeting up there to discuss the ramifications of your sighting. Unsure of what you might do next they decided to send down a recon team to watch you. I'm thinking that as long as you don't make any sudden movements or broadcast above xyz frequency you might not get vaporised. But since they probably do know that your reporting all this to members of some kind of Rodentia family, and knowing how fast rodents populate, they will probably want to capture you and bring you aboard their craft for further analysis and interrogation. If I were you i would pack a toothbrush and a flashlight!

it's not like I walk around in a tin foil hat and mumble under my breath.

I merely shared what I saw.
I don't have a clue...my best guess would be foxfire but for the size.

I've spent lots of years in the woods in the dark and never saw squat before.

static electricity in the damp?
I'm looking for something I can explain before I pack a toothbrush.

...and tho I throw words around with a twisted sense of humor like scattering seeds, this was a legit whatever it was.

on the other hand if there's visitors. I'm 56 next month and past looking for attention...if it's a visit, that would have to be the most interesting experience ever...if one had the balls to handle it.

not sure if I'd do the animal reaction of panic or just resign myself to "c'mon wid it"...cause in that circumstance what the hell COULD you do? I view it similar to death in increasing age...at some point maturity says "bring it on"

this is a big universe...it might be short sighted to think we evolved solitary...and if not...then why not the possibility?

I'm open, but no one's fool either.

Rick - I'm with you on several points. I believe that it would indeed be very narrow minded to think that in the whole wide Universe we are the only living organism. If I got lifted, I would hope i would realize that panicking would be fruitless and like you I "hope" I would just roll wid it as well! As far as getting older, I'm not far behind you and i know you have ailments that are painful and so do I now . . . however, you know what they say, "Getting Old is NOT for Sissys!" :)

hell no...just slap sissies upside the head for being wimps...I've been banned from several sites for non-PC verbage...as hard as I try to be magnanimous and patient...fuck 'em in the ear...if I wanted to babysit, I'd hang out more with my own kids.

ADVRider banned me forever for "anger issues"...I got the biggest chuckle out of that.
