Talking about gear

I love my cortech coat, It stood up very well in my lowside accident, very slight damage to the sleeve, moderate damage to the buttons. the best thing about the coat was the buttons started pulling off the coat. I sent it in to cortech and they replaced all of the buttons for free. I didn't have to pay shipping either direction.

Has anyone used the aerostich comabt touring boots? I'm interested in their quality, fit, function. I klnow these boots are made by sidi so they should be good construction.


(sorry if the spelling is off, I'm home with the flu right now. set the computer up on the tv so i can relax and surf. I can barely read the screen without my conracts in.)

I am very happy with my Olympia two piece suit. Very warm and dry with liner, very cool without.

My brother swears by his Olympia gear. But I just purchased Triumph's new Sympatex wind and waterproof all weather Pantha jacket and pants for my ride across country and back. I'll let you know at the end of June how they worked. I have the Triumph waterproof gloves with the thumb squeegie, but Vanson gloves for everyday riding. Sidi Typhoon Gore-Tex Boots for this tour and a new white Shoei RX1000 helmet for visibility. I should be ready. Maybe a bit over the top for Bennington, but I'm not going back home to repack!

PS Ya, I already know I'm a riding gear whore. No need to comment.

I have both Textile and Leather, Joe Rocket and Olympia.

And Sidi and Alpinestars for boots.

Whisperinsmith -- That Triumph jacket rocks! Of all the jackets I tried on, that was one of two finalists. The only reason I went with Rev'It is I'm not into dark, inconspicuous riding gear. Oh, and I love pockets! Lots and lots of pockets!

I just picked up Rev'it's Dakar pants and a matching Cayenne jacket. Both are light gray with lots of retro-reflective panels and plenty of ventilation. And have I mentioned how much I love pockets?

I have a pair of BMW boots and several pair of gloves, though my favorite are Held Steves. The only piece of gear I'm not really happy with is my HJC CL-Max helmet. It's okay, but I'd really like something with a built-in sunshade INSIDE the visor, like the Schuberth Concept 2 (company having serious financial woes right now). The Shoei Multitec fits like a glove, but is SO overpriced! Maybe something nice will come out next year in my price range.

This helmet rocks! The other two are definitely not for me.

I use the Symptex Pantha pants and jacket, they work great in the spring, summer and fall up here, nice air-flow vents and good armor. I also use the Sympatex Adventurer glove, they are real nice as well. I wear the Arai Corsair and a pair of old deset combat boots, probably the week link in the set-up, but they are worth it.

Hey Pete, check out the new HJC SyMax II helmet -- it's a flip-face like the CL-Max, and does indeed have the sunshade inside the visor. Pretty nice helmet, and far more reasonably priced than the Shoei.

I just got a Scorpion EXO 700 as an early birthday gift from my parents. Tried it out today -- really nice helmet, especially for its price!

Mark -- I looked at the SyMax and liked everything about it except the airflow over the visor interior, which looks the same as my current helmet. My CL-Max is the worst fogging helmet I've ever owned. Nolan got the airflow right with the N102, but the sun visor is on the outside where it can catch every bug. Sun visors go on the inside.
