New routes added

Mark,
The new routes you added look great. Thanks again for all your efforts. By the way, Rt 8 in Vermont between the Mass border and Rt 9 is one of the best motorcycling roads anywhere. A fantastic short run that will challenge you if you want it to, or it will put a smile on your face if you take it at a comfortable pace.

Hey bonnevillebilly, maybe we can sneak into Bennington that way instead of Rt 7. We can decide after finishing the Mohawk.

I don't think I've ever ridden that stretch, I'll have to check it out! Maybe we can hit it on the way to Putney :)

Which ride to pick? Such great choices. I'm leaning towards the Adirondack ride but who knows.

Is the Adirondack map available in a .gpx format?

I want to run the gaps with Tito but I'm not sure I can keep up. I guess I'll just bring a map for when he loses me.

I don't even know what .gpx format is -- one that you can download into a GPS?

At any rate, no, all the maps are screenshots from Google Maps.

I've been droolin at the Gaps ride since I first saw the map. LoVel, the only way you'll be riding alone is if you want to. All I have to do that day is get back to Bennington for a beer and I have all day to do it. This is going to be a rip. Can't wait to meet you guys.

Paul!

You will keep up! I am not going to ride at a racetrack pace. I will keep it interesting! If I need to slow things down a bit I will, If I need to speed :-) things up a bit I will. My biggest concern is your safety first and that you have a great ride while enjoying the corners, the mountains, the views and the gorgeous scenery.

You will get a preview of my riding when you , Mark, Robin and others ride out to Putney for BBQ and Veggie dish.

I take tours out during the summer for fun twice to three times a month and it is a lot of fun, different skill levels, different styles of bikes, very rewarding. We also have a Sport Bike night and it is very very fast, sometimes a lot faster than me!!! :-0

We are going to have a great ride! Hope you better half, Robin joins us on the GAP Ride.

Hey matts1050,
I've just put the Adirondack ride on MapSource. I haven't converted it to the Zumo format yet as I don't have the Zumo here at work, but I can email you a copy of the .gdb file I have and you can open it in MapSource and transfer it to your Garmin. That's assuming you have MapSource, which I think you have.

Just let me know. And if matts1050 doesn't peek back here, would others that know him let him know so I can email the file to him. Thanks.

PS I just added the Gap ride. If anyone is interested in the MapSource routes I'll be happy to email them to you. Then you can convert them to your GPS. I kept the Gap route fairly clean from Waypoints but I have 24 in the Adirondacks ride. I'm still learning this GPS stuff. The waypoints in this route are where Mark suggests "turns". It seemed to work fine.
