Bennington Triumph Bash

From my perspective as one of the organizers of the Bennington Triumph Bash, I am amazed and gratified at how successful this event was! It was an incredible experience meeting everyone, finally putting faces to names, making lots of new friends, and seeing people have fun. Even Husbands (the ska/punk band that played Saturday night) told me afterwards that it was one of the funnest shows they've ever played.

Thanks so much to everyone who came. I am awed and humbled by the spirit and generosity shown by every person who attended -- the distances ridden to attend the Bash, the generous donations at Friday night's party (I'm thrilled to be able to report that after all expenses were covered and bands were paid, we're still able to donate a small sum to Big Heavy World), and the sheer good will and friendliness of all attendees. I'm proud to have been able to spend the weekend with you all!

All of you up there did one hell of a job getting things together and making it fun even with some rain Tina and I had a great time and really look forward to the next ride. I hoped Tina would enjoy it and now she is talking about getting a secound bike just for 2 up hot damn.

Ton Up!

I have to say that after being home for two solids days I find myself looking at the pictures everyone is posting thinking of how much I miss it already. Robin's cafe was a wonderful place to hang out, listen to the towns folk, drink coffee(great coffe!!) The idea, planning, talking about the bash before the site went up led to a wonderful exprienence.

BTB has been turned into a destination for any triumph owner, A must to any that attended. My hat is off to the Bennington Bash organizers!

I also cannot adequately express my gratitude to mark, robin, tito, and all the others that made this such a wonderful experience for the tennessee redneck. I have told everyone back home that vermont is the only place I have ever seen that is pretty enough to be part of tennessee, and it is also the only place where I have seen happy yankees.

The people I have met up here, especially the triumph people, have been so happy and friendly, so unlike the northerners I have met elswhere in the country.

This has been the most relaxing vacation I have ever had, and go ahead and put my name on the list for the next one. Anywhere, anytime. If mellow can go cross country, so can I.

Thanks robin, for your gracious hospitality, allowing me to stay at the fort. All of you have a special place in my memory.

Randy nailed it. Thank you all so very much for your hard work and hospitality. The weekend was without question one of the best I've had in a long time. Hats off indeed!

As expressed by so many others . . . this event was way beyond my expectations and I for one will definitely be back!

so i'll admit that i was a little nervous having 70 or so peeps that i didn't know over for pizza and beer. mark and i were holding our breath on paying for the whole of it (pizza, beer, bands etc). we both had a big warm & fuzzy moment at the fort fri nite when we realized that all that attended were so generous with donations. everyone was wonderful (even when i was playing roof nazi). the whole bash went off in the best case scenerio. i'll definately be involved as much as possible in the organization next year.
btw...i spoke with mel from madisons and he said that we were the nicest batch of bikers that decended on his restaurant.
randy, you were a perfect (temporary) fortmate.

See Robin we can behave when we go out. Hey thanks for opening up your home I know that had to be scarey but hopefully you saw a better side of bikers.

Yes Robin, thank you for opening your fort up to us like a proper southerner would. If the people of birmingham don't accept youm you are always welcome to come back to us.

The only question I have about next year is, Where is the friday night fort party going to be?

I too am amazed at your courage going this blind! But like Jimmy said, we can behave like adults when we want to and you made it so we wanted to!

I vote that we have a huge BBQ in that parking lot where we had the group get together for our picture. The one with the caboose! I think we have enough BBQ experts to figure out how to feed an Army. Hell all we need is a couple of 50 gallon drums filled with Charcoal and a BIG trip to Costco and we are Good2Go!

that part of the parking lot is a town owned municaipal lot. we may ba able to BBQ there, but there is no alcohol on municipal property. in a perfect world, we'd need to find a privately owned lot, downtown or close, with a friendly landowner. many of them own property in bennington, but live out of town or state.
