Imagine it's 1964, and the Beatles have written a little tune called "Stairway to Heaven"...

Mark,
that is cool and wrong all at the same time. I'm a little numb on the history of Led Zepplin but was that the orignal, remake, spoof, or just some one friggin with my drug infested mind right now?
ps. I'll be glad when this trip is over. I never did do drugs so anything the doctor gives me frigs with me.

Led Zep wrote "Stairway to Heaven" in the early '70s. The Youtube video is actually of an Australian Beatles tribute band covering the song, but it's cleverly made to look like an actual 1964 Beatles performance.
I'm also amazed at how completely it sounds like a Beatles tune.

That is messed up. Zep is my fave, so it is just so wrong!! Not that there's anything wrong with the Beatles, but it's got like a weird Themesmen vibe to it

(anyone know them?!?)
Also Mark, you familiar with Hayseed Dixie?

Not at all.
Truth be told, I'm actually neither a Beatles nor a Led Zeppelin fan. My tastes mostly begin in 1977 with The Clash and Stiff Little Fingers. The older parts of my CD collection are pretty limited.

If I'm not mistaken isn't hayseed dixie a country style band that covered ac/dc songs, hence the tname hayseed dixie (ac/dc)?

You are correct sir! They've done other band cover discs. PRetty awesome actually. I'm not a big country/blue grass fan, but these guys can wail and I appreciate a sense of humor.
Mark, I began in 1977 myself, but lots of my taste is from before that... Most people say I was born in the wrong decade, but oh well! To each his own.
