Bennington Triumph Bash

Hi All!

I am planning an all day ride for Saturday. Including Tracy Road, 3 mountain GAPS and more.


Hope we can ride up to MT Equinox on Friday.


I am working on a cool ride with some of our best roads in the area.

Hey Ton, unless a BUNCH of people want to wait for saturday for Mt E, I'm happy to plan it for Friday! I think I'll be coming up thursday night at the latest.

We could also always ride up to Mt Equinox on Sunday as we head homewards. Bear in mind that a lot of people probably won't be arriving till Friday afternoon (myself included).

And we should put together a variety of different rides for Saturday so people have a choice of scenery and riding styles. The cruiser guys probably wouldn't be as interested in the gaps and Tracy Road as we are.

I just Google Mapped out a route to see how long it would be -- Bennington up to Poultney on Rt 7, west to Whitehall on NY 18, north on NY 22 just past Ticonderoga, NY 7 up to Moriah Center, Tracy Road, Ensign Pond Road, over the bridge and 17 over the App Gap, Rt 100 south to Hancock, 125 to Middlebury, 7 south to Brandon, 73 west to Rochester, 100 south to 4, 4 west to Rutland, 7 & 103 south to East Wallingford, 140 west to Poultney, and 30 & 7 back down to Bennington. 370 miles. That might be a bit much, especially for the people who'll just have pulled multiple 500+ mile days riding in. But it would be a hell of a nice ride if the weather's good!

Looking forward to trying out some new roads in southern Vermont.
I've been riding up in the western Mass for the last few years.
Lots of great roads there, but need a change of scenery.

Don't be so sure! I know quite a few guys on Americas that LOVE the twisties!!

That being said, avoid Rt 7... It's not aweful, but Rt 30 from Manchester north to Poultney is MUCH nicer. My uncle has a bumper sticker that says "friends don't let friends drive Rt 7". Otherwise that sounds like a real nice ride. As for Equinox, we'll see. Can't please everyone all the time... I know Sunday I'll be heading south, so I'd prefer Friday or Saturday. We can also do it in the morning and ride somewhere else in the afternoon, or visa versa.

Hi folks. What are the chances someone will organize a Covered Bridge Tour? Just a suggestion for us old folks as a laid back road ride. I tend to enjoy following a LOCAL around as I do at the M.E.M.E. rallye in Maine every year, I have follow Josh Stackhouse around up in Bethel, Me. and thoroughly enjoyed the road rac.....erhm, ride. yeah that's it ride!!!!! anywho???? cheers and beers, Frank H.

Not to worry, Frank, we'll be putting together a variety of different types of rides. Those who want to go ride fast in the twisties will have options, and so will those who prefer a more leisurely pace with great scenery. We may even put together some dirt road rides for the Tiger guys.

Hi Frank, there are two covered bridges in Arlington, which is two towns north. I was planning on going thru one of them on the way to Equinox anyway. Like Mark said, I'm sure someone will put a nice ride together for more. I think there are a few over on the eastern side of the state too, Rockingham has one by the VT Country Store, etc. No worries bro!

Hi Mark I will try to keep the longer rides under 250 miles and add a couple of short rides.

Hey Mark and Ton Up put together a 2 up slow ride around some of the more female type of looky places please it would make my life alittle easier since she won't go back to Daytona and I cancelled the reservations in Daytona to get her to Bennington. Something about Jello wresting just doesn't do it for her LOL. Just a thought for my sake.

We will have a variety of rides varying in length and skill level. Hopefully something for everyone.

Haha, "female type of looky places" is a great description. I assume you mean things like covered bridges, pretty trees, etc.

The covered bridge ride that Frank has requested ought to be a good choice, but as Tito points out, we'll have a bunch of different rides to choose from.

Yeah thats what I meant to many whiskey sours that night. I want to involve her as much as I can and this gathering I hope will prove that all motorcycle events are not out of control and bomber runs as we call them. Really fast on target and pray you make it back home . If this goes well I think I will be buying her a new speedmaster or BVille. She has just been turned off by the HD crowd we have ridden with in the past.

Jimmy, I plan on taking a more in-between pace. No interest in speeding tix here... I ride an America, granted with Avons and Progressives all around, but still. Not riding half mile wheelies like Hank

That would be cool sounds like my type of riding with 2 up I tend to be a tad more timid. I cant wait for this event I have never been to Vermont get to cross that one of my rode there map priceless.
