Friday night party at Greenwood -- transportation needed?

Postby mark » Tue Jan 27, 2009 10:49 am

Please sign up in this thread if you're interested in transportation from Bennington to the Greenwood Campsites and back for Friday evening's campfire and party. We do not want anyone drinking and riding their motorcycle!

If enough people sign up, we'll try to arrange a shuttle bus; otherwise we'll look into a taxi service.

Despite no one having replied. That is not a bad idea. How about a shuttle running between town and the campsite on saturday night? Might not want to ride back to the campsite after drinking at the bar after dinner. Also do we need to make our own reservations at the campsite, or are we gonna try to do a group reservation?

Well, the idea is that we're going to ride back to the campground after dinner and have a party there. So everyone who's camping will already be where they're going to sleep. We don't have the resources to arrange a shuttle bus that runs back and forth all night long -- way too expensive.

Any campers who want to go to the bars in the evening instead of attending the party will need to arrange their own transportation.

Also do we need to make our own reservations at the campsite, or are we gonna try to do a group reservation?

That's a good question, and it's in Speed's and Jimmy's domain. Would be worth bringing up in the camping thread.

Ok by me-I thought to get it started I'd pipe in. I don't drink enough to not drive anyway.

Sounds like a plan Mark. Keeping the party at the Campsite will make it easier for everyone. I'm sure Jimmy will let us know about the campsite reservations once he's ready.

They are on the sticky..... 8)Once Jimmy and I get our crap together I'll post a Campground Map. We are still gathering # to submit to the proprietors.
That's why it's important to sign up on the whose camping post , eventually we will give numbers to them ; soon. We have to prepare them for some kind of count.

Speed and Jimmy, while it's not a bad idea to give Greenwood a preliminary count, keep in mind that a lot of the people attending the Bash may not decide till a week or two beforehand. So maybe the thing to do would be to have people register themselves and mention the BTB so the Greenwood proprietors know to put us all together.

Cool. I think I'm already on the camping list. When I get around to calling Greenwood, I'll mention the BTB.

That will work. it's 7:45 P right now . I'm calling Greenwood momentarily. I'll give them some #'s so they have something + I'll mention the late bloomers and give them the BTB logo.
I'll post back when I get info and will post the campground map.

Good job Steve and Jimmy!!! Called Ann Shea a couple days ago and will be sending a check today. Not trying to stress anyone but last year I waited too long to book a hotel room and at one point had to book two different hotels for Fri. and Sat. nights. Got lucky when the Paradise had a cancellation. For anyone who didn't make last years BTB there are graduation ceremonies the same weekend.

Cheers, Todd
