Beer

Postby gilligan » Mon May 04, 2009 10:07 am

OK, so I was just reading a beer thread on another site and it got me thinking - Anyone bringing any interesting brews to the BTB? I'm hoping someone is going to bring up some traditional Yuenglings Lager or maybe some other regional beers that we can't get in New England. Of course, I'd also like to sample any local Vermont or NH brews so if anyone has any recommendations, let's hear them. Most of the time I just drink Bud (I know I'm boring) but it's also good to sample the micro brews every so often. If anyone home brews, I'd like to sample some of those too.

I'll be looking for a large beer and wine store that carries those mini 5L kegs of Becks as soon as I toss my stuff at the campground. Did the math and they work out to about 15 (12) ounce beers. The cost is about the same if the beer is bought by the bottle but you don't have to carry glass on your bike and they are an easy throw away when your done with-em:-) At least thats the plan for now.

I'm sure I will happily drink any beer you want to buy.

Touko, The mini kegs are kind of cool and to your point less trash to get rid of. That might not be a bad way to go. We'll have to check out the local selection and pick up a variety.

Lovel, the least I could do for you and Robin would be to buy you all a beer or two, especially since Robin was so cool about hosting the party in her apartment last year.

Let's hope all the rain we are seeing this week leads up to a nice dry sunny spell for the BTB!!!

I'll probably have PBR in my backpack at some point. I tried to talk seth into brewing some Rocker brand lager or ale for the trip but we ran out of time.

Seth that sounds like a great business opportunity (you heard it here first) - Rockers Style Brew with a pic of a cafe'd triumph on the bottle. And you are just the guy to pull someting like that off too. Maybe get the Bennington brewery to brew up and bottle a special batch!!!

Well, ask & you shall receive. Being from PA & just 40 minutes south of the brewery, I'd be happy to pack a 6 pack for you.

Look for me, I'll be on the 05 silver tiger staying at the Kirkwood.

That's awesome Alan. I stayed at the Kirkside last year. Gonna try Camping this year, but hopefully we'll have a chance to meet. I've got a blue and white Bonneville America. I was in Harrisburg in January on a business trip and had a few (OK more than a few) Yuenglings at the hotel bar. Felt kinda crappy when I had to get up at 7:00 the next morning and attend a four hour meeting, but made it though the meeting OK.
