Bad News. :(

Postby BlueJ » Thu May 21, 2009 7:57 am

Well gang.. it looks like after 11.8 months of looking forward to this it ain't gonna happen for BlueJ and Bonnielass. :( I NARK'ed my bike a few weeks ago and of course now the clutch is slipping something fierce. Not confident riding to work at this point, let alone 450 miles each way to VT. I'll try to get replacement springs/gasket in time but am not sure I'll even have the time to get the work on the bike done because we're in the midst of scrambling around to get ready for a 2 week vacation which starts 5 days after Bennington.

Crap.

:(

We'll be there next year... and maybe a miracle will happen this year but it looks very, very unlikely.

We hope everyone has a great fun time, in spite of not being able to hang out with the June centerfold of the NB 2009 calendar.

Jeff
springs and gasket you can get sent over night from Bonneville performance.
You can have the old ones out and the new ones in in less then 2 hours.
Man you guy have got to be there.

One of you drives a car the other rides the bike. When you get up there, you double up and go riding. The BTB really wouldn't be the same without Bonnielass being there, and you too BlueJ of course.. Seriously hope you guys find a way to make it up for the bash.

Nice thought, but that's not going to happen. Bonnielass' tagline on NBR is "Real women don't ride bitch" and I have to tell you that the idea of one car and one bike and any amount of doubling up... doesn't sound like any fun at all, for anyone.

Jeff
Are you sure it is not just an adjustment thing.
The clutches on these bikes are pretty bullet proof.
I was running the 904 kit with pod filters and the Mikuni's
and the slippage was not that bad.
you shouldn't need heaver springs or plates with just the pod filters.

Yeah, I agree, It's not the greatest way to travel. But I hope you get your clutch fixed and you guys can ride up. If not, that's just one more reason to do another event later in the summer. Take Care - Pat

Seth, you're breaking my heart...sniff, sniff...wimper, waaaaaa!
I told my wife I need a spare motorcycle.
She agreed.
Used or new, sezI.
New, sez she - avoid major issues.
I think I'm going to get a Thruxton. :)

If I do, not too likely I'd have it - or my Bonneville for the Bash.
I could write Triumph on my pickup truck and "imagine" I'm two wheeling it...

We'll be at the Labor Day CT soiree, no matter what (well, ok - not if there's a hurricaine). We've already got a place to stay all lined up just down the road.

Carlos at TPUSA is working on getting th eparts to me. IF I get them in time and IF I have enough work done at my job and IF we're all set for our vacation and IF it doesn't rain, and IF I get the bike work done, there's a possibility. That's a lot of ifs to jam into one week.

We're really, really disappointed. :(

We're scrambling! Got our fingers crossed and trying to stay optimistic, but seems like everything is conspiring against us on this one.

We'll keep you posted.
Let's do it again!

Any news? Hope you can make it, even if you miss the BBQ ride.
