Adirondacks Route Problem?

Route 9N just north of Hague was closed a few weeks ago with a detour in place. I'm not sure if it is still closed, but you may want to reroute up the east side of Lake George on 22, or there is a way to take some side roads around it, although I haven't been on them and don't know if they are all blacktop. It looks like you can go west on Rt 8, then right onto West Hague Rd, another right onto New Hague Rd (not very creative minds in that DOT office), and that will bring you back to Rt 9N. If the construction is farther north, you may have to tack on a left onto Trout Brook Rd. which brings you back to 9N farther north. Just a heads up for those of you considering this route.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to find out if 9N is still closed.

According to the realtime road info website I found, 9N appears to be open. They've probably completed the work -- they're now in prime tourist season, after all. If it does turn out to still be closed, we'll just use the detour they've set up. Rt 22 is a bit boring down there so I don't want to move the ride route over to it.

I just called the DOT, and they said the work is done and it has repoened, so the original route should work fine.
