Winter riding

I just got back from a wonderful 40 miles on my Honda. I really love these warm winter days (low 40s up here around Burlington today) -- it's an awesome feeling to be riding in January, and those snowy Vermont landscapes are really beautiful from the back of a bike.
Also, it's kind of fun being the only bike on the road. People kept honking their horns at me and giving me the thumbs-up. I know, it's Vermont in January, but it's 40-some degrees out!
Now that I'm back home, I realise how badly I needed this. I feel so much better now.
God, I can't wait till spring.

I am very tempted to take out one of my bikes, but It would my it much worse for me. I must be patient and pray for an early spring.
Hope you all have a great time on you bikes and be careful with the sand and salt on the roads.

should be mid 50s in Ct on Wednesday but up here the roads are coverd with salt and sand. No the best riidng environemnt nor is it beneficial for the motorcycle's finish. I will wait until March and do what we New Englanders do best: complain about the weather

The roads are covered with salt and sand here too. That's one of the reasons I bought the Honda dual-sport, so I could thrash it around in shitty winter conditions without feeling guilty. On the way home I stopped at a do-it-yourself car wash and sprayed all the crap off the bike. I wouldn't subject my Triumph to these conditions, but I don't mind doing it to the Honda. It was made to get dirty. And the rims and most of the other parts are aluminum or plastic, so they can't rust.

We'll all have beachfront property and ride in January. Got home from work today and rode a quick 20 miles through the back roads. Tomorrow I'm thinking about being "sick". Cough, Cough...

Well heres the daily report I got cancelled for my morning appointment and pulled the bike out rejetted and changed carb bolts to allen head put airbox back together. Yes my friend this thing runs better with a stock airbox with the D&Ds . Jetting 120 mains 42 pilots and 3.5 turns out on the thumb screws plugs a light tan after a trip around town. Then I rode it for about a hour stopped at a good friends shop who works on harleys to sync the carbs on the balancing rake we built. Really good mechanic and has been a big help over the years with projects I have done. He wanted to ride my BVille and I let him he loved it wanted to let me take the VROD home for the weekend and leave him the trumpet NOT A CHANCE. WE put about 75 miles on it and then I went to work. Its gonna rain tomorrow so riding done for a couple of days.
