I'm really proud of all of you. You brothers and Sisters got what it takes to rough it.
It's almost like taking a step back in time.
Like the freakin' ice age LoL. I really wanted to say that though, it wasn't easy with the cold mountain air and rain , it would have been quite easy to melt down and cave.
I thought for sure 'Trooper Lou' was not going to make it. LoL.
Anyways you guys roughed it well , and it was rough.
Thanks again Kurt for the x-tra firewood !
I think all of our crazy humor kept us sane. Does that make sense? LoL.
Touk' said " I'm not going to be happy unless it snow's" !
I say damn close!
Kudos to all !
speed.

P.S. $45.00 down and I'm purchasing a rain suit (Motorcycle $95.00) similar to Benny's. That's what the mountain did for me ! LoL.

hey speed

That's not cold enough to freeze you to the "porta-potty-in-the-road" seat, soquityerbitchin! :) :)

While it was nippy, and I was very out of my element, not having camped since I was 14 - with my grandfather, in the pickup he owed at the time- I am very glad I was up on the hill with everyone. The group gathered round the fire for stories, jokes and maybe a few exagerations was awesome.

Next year, I'll eat a little less at dinner and save room for the Rockers Late late late night bbq and brews.

Hell, it snowed on me, on the way home. Does that count?

Yeah I like my rain suit, altho I have to say the pants are VERY basic, disproportionaltely so to the jacket, but they work! If you can get something with some higher tech pants, easier to take on and off, you'd be better off, but hey, dry is dry! And I've worn it when it was cold as a wind breaker, works well too! I have to say I was glad to be inside, but you guys were real troopers!! I got some funny looks on the ferry with my camp chair strapped to the bike :D

Thats right Benny, dry is dry, and in theory my gear was supposed to work well enough by allowing water thru the pants and jacket but hitting waterproof liners (as needed) on the inside and running out. Now it works well enough for light to moderate rain where your stuff can dry out should it clear up and your gear air dries or if the place your staying has a dryer but I struck out on both so the next piece of gear looks like a one piece rain suit that goes over everything.

Anyone with reccomendations for such a suit?

Oh, and Schuitz, lucky you.

Hey yeah Speed, and for a little extra ya can get a light saber with it. Should come in handy for those pesky woodland creatures.

Dried out? Yeah, I haven't drank since Sun. LOL. Hey, once the fire got started over at your campsite it was all good. Can't wait to do it all again next year only I'll be watching the forecast a little closer.

I've never understood the idea of a waterproof LINER for something. Top layer, all the way.
