Hi all,
Had a great time at BTB 2009!!
However... If I could change one thing, I would love it if we could take over a hotel (and parking lot) with all those beautiful bikes in one central location. So we can all hang when we're not riding, in one spot, kick tires, shoot the sh*t, catch up with old friends and make new ones. The second best part of the BTB is the comradery you feel hanging around with people that share the same passions as you. The first best part are those awesome VT roads (and NY... like Kelly Rd.).
I stayed at the Paradise Inn both years. I enjoyed looking out and seeing folks arrive / leave on their Triumphs, although there were only a few of us there. It is a strain to see anything beyond the parking lot. I know the folks that stayed at the Kirkside had the same experience and I suspect they enjoyed hanging in the lot while they caught up. I found myself meeting up with folks over at the Kirkside also.
What if we could ALL (or at least most) stay, gather, meet, plan, catch up, leave from, return to the same place? How cool would that be?
I've done a little digging and it doesn't look like there is much in Bennington that can accomodate our large group. There is a *new* Hampton Inn which is 2 miles from downtown. It happens to be right next door to a huge Hannafords Grocery Store (which could be convenient for incidentals, snacks and drinks). I'm not necessarily pushing the Hampton but they typically do have VERY comfortable beds, an indoor pool / sauna and complimentary breakfast. This particular hotel has 80 rooms so they should be able to manage.

I'm just throwing this out to see what folks think. I know there are some that prefer to camp in the cold and rain and bugs. For those...they could still have the option. For the rest of us (more sane) folks, I would much prefer staking out a "spot" rather than spreading out over an "area". If anyone else knows of a different (or more appropriate) hotel or facility, please throw it out. If I'm totally off my rocker (not Rocket - I wish), just tell me to shut up and I'll go back to being a lurker. If there is some promise to my proposal, perhaps a poll would be appropriate.
Regardless... SEE YOU ALL IN 2010!!!
