Hot and Humid Today ! Beginning to think BTB is at the right time of the year.
By the way Congrats Paula. I'm happy for you.
I'm on facebook as well . My 24 year old got me going on it. Another alternative to talking with him down at Indiana U.

Birmingham made the news today as one of the top 20 cities to get cancer from breathing the air. You gotta love that. We are right up there with New York city.

Our Agency that is supposed to protect the environment is called the Alabama Department Of Enviromental Management(ADEM). They are a real joke. I called them and asked them how I should dispose of old paint. Their advice to me was, "we would prefer that you use it."
Thanks Ass Wipe. I would have preferred that also.

Note that unlike the Enviromental Protection Agency(EPA) the Alabama enviromental agency has nothing to do with protecting the enviroment. They simply manage it.

We might see the sun today for the first time in weeks here on the east coast. It's also supposed to start warming up and begin to feel like summer - about time. Can't really complain about the crappy weather in vermont, when its been just as bad here.

Next time you talk to them, agree and ask them where they park their car. Another coat of a good house paint is sure to protect it from the corrosives in the air for several years. At least they didn't suggest you just pour it down the sink. Up here in VT, we can mix old latex/acrylic with sawdust and let it dry. Once dry, it's not a hazardous material and can go in the garbage. We can bring the other stuff to the transfer station (formerly known as the dump) and pay a small fee for them to take it.

In the theater where I work, we use almost exclusively water based stuff so there's often a five gallon bucket of grayish green oatmeal drying under the loading dock. Yum. Smells like you'd expect grayish green oatmeal to smell, too.
