Maine Roads

Postby sevy » Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:45 pm

My buddies and I are going to ride from Glens Falls NY to Acadia Park in Maine next week, and I am trying to get some road suggestions. One of the guys has a camp north of Bangor, and it takes him about 7 hours driving in a car, and he says the roads are not in very good condition. We were thinking about riding to his camp the first day, and then doing Acadia the next day, then back through NH and VT, etc., on the last two days. I have been in the North Conway area in a car several times, but not much driving in Maine. We are completely flexible as to our schedule and itinerary, so if the weather looks clear, we may do Mt. Washington area on the way to Maine rather than the way back. The coastal tourist crap we are trying to avoid, although we know the Acadia day will be lots of traffic. Any of you have any suggestions from past rides? Thanks!

You should be in Maine just in time to enjoy the 2 weeks of summer they have!

Sevy,

Too bad on the timing of this! I'm head to the midwest tomorrow night or I would join you on the ride.

Check out our Maine groups site, join and post there, you will get many good suggestions.
