I would like to thank everyone who attended this wonderful event. We had lots of familiar faces and lots of new ones too. We had a blast planning the second BTB and we are still learning and looking for ways to improve it. We met our expectations and we were all smiling! I know I was! Thank you all for coming and hope to see you again next year!

I would also like to thank Mark and Robin for all their hard work and dedication, to Kurt for everything he did including the firewood to keep the campers warm on those VT chilly nights, to Allan for taking care of the name tags, to Bonnielass & Blue J for our beautiful BTB 2009 pins, to Sevy for making those great T-shirts, to Seth for my Ton Up Pirate Flag, to Benny for leading and awesome ride and if I forgot someone thank you.

The entire event was a total blast! Well done all around, I'd say. And Brian form "Woos-teh" led a few of us around all day Sat. for a fantastic ride thru 4 states!

I have to echo what Tito's saying -- thanks to everyone who came! It was great seeing everyone!

Huge thanks to Robin for all her long-distance effort in organizing things -- she was doing this from Birmingham, Alabama this year! -- and to Tito for his hard work bringing in our awesome sponsors, organizing the BBQ dinner on Friday, and generally publicizing the BTB!

And many thanks to Kurt for all the work he did making people comfortable at the campground -- I benefitted from all the firewood he brought myself! -- and also to everyone else who helped out.

Many thanks to the folks who put this together! This was my first event, and my two buddies and I enjoyed it immensely! Since the northern rides are all in our backyards, we decided to do the southeast area, and using the Mohawk Trail ride as a starting point, we put together a really nice medium range trip that might appeal to some folks next year who are looking for something longer than the short rides, but not so long as the Gaps or Adirondack rides. Briefly, down to North Adams via secondary roads, then up Notch Rd. and over the top of Mt. Greylock, which has just reopend with pristine resurfaced roads. Then north on the east side of Greylock through Adams, right onto Rt.2, which was awesome! North on 8a, 112, and 100 to 9 east to Brattleboro, Top of The Grill (we couldn't make it in time Friday night), then back on 9 to the campsite. About 180 miles all together, and every one of them a treat!

Sorry, I forgot the most important question - when is next year's bash scheduled?

Alan - thanks for the Yuengling. It was shared and much appreciated by several visitors to our campsite. Look forward to seeing everyone at next year's bash!!!

Sorry, I forgot the most important question - when is next year's bash scheduled?

Not for nothing but I hope it is a little more in June than May so we can get some warmer weather and a better chance of a rain free event; but that is just my opinion which counts for . . . well, not very much!

We haven't even started thinking about when to have next year's Bash yet. The problem with moving it back is that we run into other rallies -- Americade is the next week, Laconia the week after that, so if we want to avoid conflicts we'd have to move it back by three or four weeks. And at that point we run into prime summer vacation season, when people might not be able to attend due to family plans and whatnot.

Our default weekend-after-Memorial Day slot would actually put us a week further back next year -- Memorial Day in 2010 is on May 31, so if we stick to the way we've done things the past couple years, the BTB would be June 4-6. Americade starts June 7 next year, so that would work out, but a week doesn't make much difference in the weather.

Of course, we could also move the BTB into the fall. Personally I think late September would be a great time for it -- still warm during the day, and the fall foliage will have started but it doesn't hit its peak until October so there won't be too many leaf peepers around yet.

I'll probably post a poll sometime soon.

Of course this means you only have June,July and August to plan cause I for one do not want to wait over a year . Yeah fall rally here we come. .

I think spring is good personally. People are itching to ride and everything has just turned green after a long winter. People are not burnt out from all the summer things and have not spent all there fun money for the summer. Also I have found the rain in September to be just as wet as the rain in May.

Since I'm a "firstie", my opinion doesn't count for much, but I say keep it in the spring. Honestly, there is no guarantee regarding weather; if there were, it wouldn't be the Northeast! I liked it right where it was, and would love to see it stay on the weekend following Memorial Day. Easy to remember for everyone, and a reasonable compromise of potential weather versus scheduling conflicts. Living here for many years, let me say that there have been lots of rainy Americades, so moving it one week later wouldn't guarantee bluer skies.
