My beautiful bride and I have both gotten the necessary days off of work. I guess we had better start packing.

Put new shoes on the VFR this past weekend. Will be checking brakes and cables and chains and such over the next several weekends.

I feel the excitement.

Hmmm...98 days? Let me see here...I shit once a day - with an occasional "double header", so...mmm..8 divided by 27, carry the four, move the decimal point...mmmm.
That's about 106.5 more dumps until it's time to leave! :-)

Were you the guy with the calculator in the reststop on 287 last week? I wondered what that was all about.

I did have an 06 Triumph Sprint for the first bash. I know the problems I had were not the norm for the new Triumph bikes but after all the trouble I had(over six months total time in the shop for the bike during the first two years) I just couldn't get another Triumph.

I do love the Triumph bikes and my wife(Robin)(bonniegirl) lets me ride her Bonnie on a regular basis. I plan on having my own Bonnie one day. Just not one under warranty. I will never deal with Triumph warranty BS again.

Lovel, did they ever find out what the problem was with the Sprint? And whatever happened to Randy? Last post that I remember was about a girl and then "poof" he's nowhere to be found on these boards.

That seems to have happened to Tito too.

They fucked up all the settings so bad trying to make it run without fixing it that when they finally fixed it they forgot to reset the tune and it still wouldn't run. It took them a month to figure out they should reset the tune.

Replaced parts :

CAM CHAIN and all that it entails
Stepper Motor
Throttle Position Sensor
Throttle Bodies

I'm sure there is more. The mechanic also informed the that the Valves were in spec no check required for another 12000 miles or so.

The last time they fixed it the bike died again about thirty days later. They told me it was water in the gas. I didn't believe them and we went to court. On court day(why they didn't show me this before I don't know)they brought in a bottle of something that looked like mayonaise and oil. They said they took it out of my gas tank. I lost the suit. Kenny the head service guy put the bike back together at no charge. We brought it home put gas in the tank and charged the battery. I'll be damned if it didn't start. SInce my dad footed the bill on my VFR I sold him the Sprint for one dollar.

He is in the process of putting a D&D on it as well as a new spring and handlebar risers. I think I am supposed to help him with all that Sunday. He says it runs like a bat outta hell. I told him I knew that.

I think I will start a new thread about Randy. Talked to him just the other day.

The mechanics must have bald spots on the sides of their heads with all the scratching going on. Too bad ya went through such a debacle but at least your Dad is having fun on it. Hopefully the bugs (more like aliens) are now worked out of it.

It was a great bike when it was running and as much as the mechanic went over it, if he really got all the broken stuff fixed it should be as good as new.
