The Shoreham Inn Pub in Shoreham Village, VT My favorite Cheeseburger and they have Switchback on Tap, sit on the bar or out on the deck, Irish music every other week.

Great homemade desserts! Tell Molly I sent you! Their menu changes every Thursday.

Sandys Cafe in Rochester, has amazing whole food, pastries, coffee and espresso, sandwiches, and the like. She makes fresh food every day, and they have internet available if you need to check your mail.
They feature food from local producers, natural and organic when possible.

Hey Larry, where is Sandy's Cafe in Rochester? Is it the same location as the Rochester Cafe (ie, did it get renamed)?

If not, the Rochester Cafe is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch too.

If you are ever on my side of the border, PJ's Barbecue at the south end of Saratoga Springs is great, and there are always plenty of bikes to look at. Pitkins in Schroon Lake has a great turkey club, and their pies are homemade. The diner at the 4 corners in Edinburgh, at the end of the bridge is also very good. Piggy Pats just south of Rome has great food, and again, lots of bikes. Unfortunately, there's no really outstanding barbecue anywhere near me, including Lake George and Glens Falls. Dinosaur Barbecue is opening a shop in Troy NY, but at last report, not until August. Both of their places in Syracuse and Rochester are first rate, and they have two now in New York City, one in Times Square, and one in Harlem. Truly great barbecue!

The cafe did get a name change, from Seasoned Books and Bakery. It is the one right next to the gas station, on the East side of Route 100.

"The Porch" is a good restaurant, with a sit down bar. Good for a dinner.

Ah, okay, so there are two good choices across the street from each other now. Sandy's on the east side of 100 and the Rochester Cafe on the west side. Nice.
