New Sprint st

Well ladies and gents:
In all my new found glory, i bought the 09' Sprint and let me tell ya, IT IS AWSOME, while at the dealership they let me test ride the new BMW S1000RR, holy SHIT, that bike is frightning!
But back to the fun, That Sprint has boo-koo torque, and the linear pull towards redline is great, while messing around my in-laws town i had fun with little wheelies, but it was the great open road i was waiting to experience, i waited until i had a couple hundred miles on her before i decided to tear it up, And from here on out to break in i will be easy on it, it was fun for sure, and the bike is more than i had expected. Triumph did this bike Justice, it is a truly awsome machine.
I am happy to be a brotheren- officially.

The 1050 Triple is one of the best engines in the planet, power everywhere. Smooth and refined and extremely responsive.

I like that 1050 engine! Just don't put full synthetic oil in until about 3000 miles.

I agree with what you say but I think that disappearing oil trick was Tiger specific although as usual Triumph denies any knowledge of a problem. I love Triumph motorcycles but in my opinion Triumph USA and Peter Carlio suck.

I hope you enjoy your new bike as much as I enjoyed mine until it broke. I hope you don't have to put up with any of the shit I did. Note my current ride is a Honda.

When i got a new 02 Tiger for problems unexplainable by Triumph through a lemon law when i was in Illinois, new bike same issue,,,Peter said to me on the phone he was going to give me 1500.00 in accessories or clothing,,,never saw anything, i agree with your comment of him.
Funnier yet was i was at Demo Days in State College this past weekend, and Peter was given another chance to hand over the goods he promised, and low and behold, NOTHING, but i didnt buy the triumph for peter, i bought it for me.

I really like the Thruxton as a throwback model, maybe one day when i am tired of modern machines, i will get me one of those, the bonnies are nice as well.
My brother had a 94 thunderbird, i liked that alot as well.

Try a classic triple - bulletproof engines with torque everywhere, easy to wrench on, relatively rare and unique, and best of all a bargain used! There have been some great low mileage ones in the northeast in the $3 - 3500 range. The Bonnies are beautiful bikes, especially in the classic colors with wire spoked wheels, but they will always command a higher buy-in cost. The 2 versus 3 cylinder debate is one I don't engage in, but I will say my triple engine is one fine motor, and set up properly, sounds great.

I still think a Thunderbird Sport would make an awesome sport-touring bike. If I found an especially good deal on a low-mileage one, I'd be very sorely tempted.

I think you would be too tall, Mark. I wanted to buy this beautiful Tbird Sport back in '02 for my first Triumph but the riding position was too cramped. maybe with a taller seat it would have fit.

had it up to 156.6 and it still had a bit left, with just a few clicks over 600 miles, she is running AWSOME.
Dont know what it will run, and i may never find out, but am still ear to ear grinning over the fact of this great machine.

You should see over 160 on the speedo, but also need to bear in mind the speedo error. can you check it with a GPS? Nevertheless it is and incredible sport touring machine and it is a TRIUMPH!!!
