New tires!

Postby Shytown » Sat Jun 19, 2010 6:48 am

Has anyone burned up a new set of battalax bt 020's in 3200 miles?
it just seems odd how fast they went, i mean i ride hard, but i am no Rossi !

if you could, put your tire type in and approximate mileage, this way we can start a documentation trail on estimated mileage of such and riding behavior types added in would not be a bad idea either i'll start.

Bridgestone BattleWing (on my Wee-Strom) front: 10k+ miles, rear: 8k+ miles.

Avon AM26 Roadriders (on my Bonnie) -- not exactly sure as I don't remember exactly when I put them on -- but I think I've got about 8k on the front and it's still good, and I think I got about 5k out of the rear. Could have gotten another thousand or two miles, but the center tread was just barely shallow enough for the bike not to pass inspection, so I had to change the tire.

Continental TKC-80: fronts last okay, burned through a rear on my Honda XR650L over the course of my ~3500-mile Trans-Labrador trip last fall.

Tires

I used the DUNLOP 220 on my old Yamaha FJ-1200 and they were excellent at high speed, cornering and in the rain, with great wear!

Avon Roadriders w/ ~6,000 miles. Still have a couple of 1,000 left on the rear, front looks fine.
Way better than the OEM Metzlers, imho.

I get about 8k or so on a set. Been going with the OEM for an America. This year I switched to Bridgestone Spitfire series. The handling is much better and we'll see how the mileage goes. With the easy pace I ride should get 12k.
