The NYC crew has been out as recently as yesterday; 8 of us took in Harriman State Park, Rockwell Triumph's holiday party and the wild turkey and deer alongside the Palisades Parkway. 6 of us have heated gear, just wanted to be upfront :naughty:

I got out for a couple of hours Saturday, nearly up to the Canadian border. Temps in the low 20s, but the roads were bone dry, so conditions were good for riding.

And yes, I have heated gear too.

It was 48F and sunny in Boise today, went for a little ride. Cold tomorrow, trying to ride about 250 miles a week just back and forth to work.

Put on 138 miles on Wednesday. Rode to Canandaigua & back to pick up visor I ordered in August. It just came in! Bit brisk but with heated great in was nice to get out. I think I'm done now...salt has been applied plentifully. Maybe after a good rain or too...just maybe I'll get out again...lol

Road up to the Litchfield Hills today. Just a quick 100 miles. Nice to get out in the air a bit. Brrr! (even with heated gear!)

The NYC crew is getting ready for the annual New Year's Day 'Isle of Manhattan' ride of our coastal roads. We meet at 10am at the Sidewalk Cafe on Avenue A. Usually 100 or so bikes. Those who street park are bringing in their batteries-

Come join us- our RAT has a good showing.

Happy New Year & let the 5 month countdown begin!

Was going to go for a ride today as it's going to be warm but the fog is pretty thick. I'll wait a couple of hours and try again!

Got out for about 130 miles on the Tiger on Saturday, with my friend David on the '98 Tiger he just bought -- those Steamers are cool bikes! And yesterday I got out for 55 miles or so on my XR650L. Felt so good to be out riding!

I agree Mark! Its amazing how much a ride can change your outlook. Fortunately for us we all have two wheel therapy. I'd rather hop on the bike and go to work out any problem or solution. Stopping along the way to converse with folks makes it even more enjoyable. Stopping for a beverage after just is icing on the cake!

It will probably be awhile before the weather is good enough in WNY for another ride soon. A bunch of us are heading to Cleveland for the International MC Show. Might be some beverage consuming at the hotel at night.

I'm finishing up reassembly of a DR350SE I bought in the fall, but once it's together I'll be wanting to try it out (assuming no snow on the ground, it has street-biased dual sport tires on it now). I won't want to wait until spring to ride it, it's been apart too long (and so far into reassembly no extra parts, which is reassuring).

Other than keeping warm, which I have a decent handle on, any particular considerations around dealing with more sand on the roads and nastier dirt roads? I figure this bike is as good a choice as any for trying it.
