And some of those curves are definitely not 100mph curves, except maybe on a bike that's actually capable of leaning 70 degrees.

Truth be told, that road is twisty enough that even sticking to the speed limit (45 or 50) you'll be leaning pretty far in a lot of the curves.

I agree!

I can only break the Ton on a few spots and 130mph plus on only one section.

Kinda like this one? btw - my bike puts 70 hp down at the wheel. Maybe Greg will let me borrow his N2O. ;)

Thank you!

I am not really a very fast rider at all (ask Mark) . So please do pull over and wait for me. LOL, I will try to keep up.

Yeah, Tito's such a slowpoke. I'm constantly having to wait for that guy. :)

Here's a preview of what you'll be able to enjoy in May. Vermont Rt 17, Appalachian Gap, from west to east. Sorry the video's a little shaky; the camera mount on the handlebars wasn't very sturdy. You'll notice a couple breaks where the video was edited together from multiple runs, but it always picks up in the same place. (Caution, large file!)

Mark - that's a nice road. We have a few just like it. Hwy 60 going up to Suches Ga has so many back to back hairpins that if you get stuck behind someone in a car going slow ... you're stuck. Not enough space from corner to corner to make a pass.

Gotta love it! Route 17 is our playground, I try torun it at least once a week during the riding season. Some parts are a little scary, some parts are a little slippery and most of it is a blast.

I noticed this past summer that some of the pavement on the App Gap had started to get kind of bumpy -- there's one spot in particular that took me by surprise, riding east to west, braking before a turn, and there was a bump in the pavement big enough to upset my front suspension and make the tire skid a little. But it only took one time before I remembered where the bump was and avoided it on subsequent runs.

Still, the pavement overall isn't quite as smooth as it used to be. With the Bonneville's stiff, sporty Ikon suspension, things can get interesting if I'm not careful... but on the other hand, the Honda dual-sport is an absolute blast on the App Gap!
