Non-triumph motorcycle owners coming?????

Have questions about the event or the area? Want to plan a ride in with others who are coming? Here's the place for it.

the HD riders wlil probably run into someone while they are admiring their reflections in storefront windows
and if it does ot rain, the glare off the HD chrome could be blinding
I'm not a fan of turnng this into a look at me parade

I hate to say this but if it is a HD I'm almost inclined to agree with the Doc. You know how these Gay Pirates can be - you invite one and they invite all of Americade over and then the weekend is ruined! Like I said before, those BMW riders are some of the nicest guys you could ever meet or ride with and they have invited many of us lower Fairfield County Rat's not only on their rides but also to their get together dinners! I would go back to back with any of them, no different to me than backing up with Jimmy! :-)

To clarify:

This is the Bennington TRIUMPH Bash. It has always been intended as an event for Triumph enthusiasts.

We're certainly not going to be checking everyone's Triumph-owning credentials. And if Triumph-enthusiast attendees have friends/family they want to bring who ride other brands, they're certainly welcome.

But I think it would defeat the purpose to issue an open invitation to the motorcycling public in general. We want to keep this Triumph-focused.

well said Mark...cause we not only smart...we special.

...and it is all about the Ed Turner vertical twin...the heritage...the legacy...the benchmark in history...and the modern bastard offshoot models Jap riders can relate to and pretend they're on the inside of the clique...

we not only sing...but we dance just as good as we walk.

do the tighten up.

So it's OK to be a Triumph snob or a Euro snob, but all Harley riders are posers? This Harley/Triumph rider doesn't really appreciate attitudes. Especially narrow-minded ones.

OH BOY!
we did firearms and polictics, I figured religion was next but the Harley thing blindsided me
although we cannot "limit" who rides into town that wekend, I woudl like our group to be somewhat exclusive
this is not a biker's bash its aTriumph bash
and now I dont' know if I should ride my "real" bike (T140) or one of my modern bastards

I agree with mark's post. No need to bash Harleys but it is a Triumph Bash. I for one am not going to go out and tell anybody riding a different kind of bike they have to leave.

You said it DRLAPO! LOL. I am totally in agreement with you. Many of you know how I feel towards HD and I could really go off on the brand right now but I promised Mark and Benny that I would display a little compassion for those less fortunate folks (harley riders).
Well done is always better than well said.

Yeah, I always try to show some compassion for the uniformed and the narrow-minded. Now, the snobs....not so much.

As i said before I will welcome any one on two wheels even some one who would ride a JAP bike.
All I ride with are Harley riders I would be embarrassed to be seen with some on a JAP bike Unless of course he was bringing it to burn :D
Now Triumph riders are always welcome any where in any group.

Guys, if you want a Triumph only or Euro only gathering it's okay to state that up front. Not sure where all the bashing of Asian bikes and HDs is coming from, but both Mark and Tito ride Asian bikes and they're a couple of very nice guys. I rode a Yamaha before trading up to the Tiger. I'd like to think I'm fairly normal.

And the HD bashing thing? I don't care for the bikes but the riders here in VT have always been very nice to anyone on two wheels. If the group decides to exclude them because of noise or whatever, fine. But chill on the insults. Triumph riders are supposed to have class.
