GPS

I went on a trip last Saturday with some friends to Fair Haven, MASS and one of my buds had a Garmin Zumo 550, wow that is one neat and simple unit. We kept changing the speech languages just for fun, for a while I felt like James Bond! Very accurate and precise unit.

I am really thinking about the ZUMO 450.

Like I said earlier - that's the one my wife wanted to get me for Christmas and i talked her out of it. She liked it because I could also use it in my car which is not equipped with NAV or Bluetooth so it could be used for hands free cellular as well in my car. Way to expensive but it is the best one out there

Our friend Michele lives there, she rides a new BMW F800ST and a Kawasaki Ninja 500. There are a lot of Guzzi folks down there too.

I cooked dinner for 6 bikers and we had a few beers, wine and cake.

You have got to be shitting me! Michele! Michele Bissonette! I just stopped by her apartment Saturday to pick her brain about my impending long ride. She wasn't home damn it. She lives right around the corner from where I keep my bike and where I grew up. I went riding with her this summer when she first got the new bike. She hated it at first and was ready to sell it at a huge loss. I told her I felt the same way about my Sprint when I first road it, but after a couple of weeks learning the new riding style, she should be fine.

Well, she can ride! She certainly puts miles on her bikes. I'll have to stop by and tell her about how I know you. Maybe I can talk her into Bennington, or have you already?

Damn, next time you guys head this way, let me know!

PS Would you happen to know her email address? I can never seem to catch her at home and I'd like to hook up with her again to see how she is making out with the beemer as well as ask about "camping" issues. Incredibly small world!!!

PPS Oh, and I can eat cake and drink beer too! (I'll do the dishes.)

I don't want no stinking GPS. Who the hell wants to know exactly where they are and exactly where to get BBQ or Ice Cream or where the next place is you can stop and take a shit. What fun is that. I guess you can quit carrying that roll of TP in your tank bag now.

After my last post I know this will be hard to believe but I really don't have a problem with GPS. At this point in my life I choose not to use one. At some point in the future I may change my mind.

Enjoy your GPS. I will continue to use my map.

Sorry about that Jimmy! I meant it in the nicest way! And LoVel, there is a place for both a map and GPS.

I'm a young coot still, and I like using a GPS. But that's probably because I'm a geek and enjoy electronic gadgets.

I like some woman telling me where to turn incase my wife is not there to do the job. The voice on the garmins even has a hint of attitude when she has to recalculate.

Women would probably buy bunches of them for there husbands if they programmed them to say, "I told you, you were going the wrong way" or some such comment.
