I have logged out of TriumphRat.net and do not think I will visit anymore. I figure it this way - I must interact with those I consider assholes everyday, like all must do. But to consciously hit a key to be among them is just plain stupid on my part. Honestly, I think I would like most of the people I got to know [in a cyber way] if I met them in person, as I will at the bash. But I am too old, too entrenched in life to tolerate being scolded, lectured, and dismissed by a sycophant. Christ! Joking around, even if mixed with a little seriousness, is joking around. This politically correct world will not kill me, but damn well will take the fun out of life - if I let it.

I think my problem is that I have never felt like a "victim" of anything, just a regular old American.

I did say that I thought it was strange that he would actually want that job. I also said I would never want that job. I also said that someday in the future he will quit that job because he will disagree with one of the rules or other moderators and say "Fuck this shit"! And I for one will not blame him for anything past or present and welcome him back into the ordinary RAT fold with open arms, a high five, double knuckles or whatever we decide on for that day!

He's a good guy that took on a shit job for reasons we have no idea why - and might not be any of our business. What I can tell you is I had Root Canal today and the follow-up will be 8am April 30th and I'd rather have root canal then be a moderator on the RAT, where your just a pawn caught in the middle of a "Shit-Storm" as Mr. Lahey would say! :D

I am sure Sweat's a nice person, but instead of having a shit job, he doing a shity job at a shity job that he volunteered for, . It doesn't add up when he wants to have his cake, but tells others to basically fuck off. For example, here's a couple of statements he's made and they're both 180 degrees opposite of one another...something he's used to doing.

"if you see 3 harleys at the triumph store it's cause the american dental association finally figured out the Bonneville is back, and they told their accountants and lawyers. They're there to trade up to real bikes!" http://www.triumphrat.net/triumph-twins ... post547156

"A word on HD bashing threads....This is a Triumph site. I will lock down or delete HD bashing threads. I challenge you all to find an HD site with a Triumph bashing thread." http://www.triumphrat.net/triumph-twins ... ost1003829

I'd show him a few bash threads and forums and answer his challenge if he didn't lock down his own post for replies....LOL! Got to love it!!

I'll say it one more time - any kind of RAT bashing is counter productive to our primary purpose - which is the BTB. I just don't see any point to bashing anyone over there; it just makes us look like childish idiots that have nothing better to do - when in fact we really do have many things better to do like keeping the focus on our big event that is coming up real soon! :)

When I read the deal go down a few months back when Sweat chimed in writing something like "Look out Sweat's in charge.." I scratched my head and said to myself ‘the kid is over his head.’

One of his first posts on this forum was Sweat lamenting the control over at T-Rat Net, ripping off a few profanity ladened remarks along the way.....LOL!!

And then, once he became moderator, he explained himself off with some knee jerk bullshit politically correct excuse as to how he was going to 'improve' the site over there.

Recently, the moderator Catbird (I think?) had to step in and shut down a thread he was getting into it with another member who was calling Sweatmachine out as the motorcycle 'zip tie, fiberglass, JB Weld, hack, ' that he is.

Well one things for sure...it's certainly been entertaining watching Sweat....sweat. LOL!!

Hey, I read this forum too!

Hack? What have you done to your bike?

I don't have to justify my abilities to anyone, but there's nothing wrong with zip ties, fiberglass, or JB weld in my opinion, in certain situations. BTW, there's no fiberglass on my bike. I was playing around with it for a while, but never ended up actually using it.

I saw a shirt at a bike show, it said "We don't build anything, we just talk a lot of shit"

if any of you wants me to order one for you, PM me your size.

Davidc, you want to call me a punk, then call me a punk.

But in my mind, a real punk is someone that PMs the sitemaster (shawn) to complain about my moderation of you, then gets on another forum and complains about it.

So I locked your threads, get over it. Besides, after I locked your threads and posted the sticky on HD bashing, I got 2 pms from other members THANKING me for it.

one more thing, I've been a punk a whole lot longer than a moderator, so I act accordingly. Did you do the skin thickness test yet?

That's what I'm saying.

Look, I don't want everyone to think Sweat = Ratnet moderator. I am that, but I'm a bonnie-lover first, I'm still an asshole/drunk/punk/fuckhead/same dude I was before I was a moderator, so try to think of me as "that guy" not "that moderator"

I have a "job" to do, and I think I'm doing a fucking good job (at a 'hated' job) so I will continue as I have.

I'm just another dude with a bike. Besides, I wouldn't have deleted the "bikes and babes" thread back in the day ;)

Cheers, motherfuckers:

You're right Sweat...you don't have to justify your abilities to anyone, your abilities at moderator, bike mods, and everything else is pretty self evident. Keep up the good work!

The shut down on the thread about someone’s opinion of HD’s & HD Riders is pretty exemplary of the free flow of ideas and opinions that you control over there. You challenge anyone to show a HD forum where they bash other manufactures, but then close it down. Well I don't know how many HD Forums are out there, but within a few minutes of Google there are plenty disparaging remarks about 'Metric' bikes. Which doesn't bother me one bit...it's kind of like a pro sports rivalry. You have Yankee Fans against Red Sox fans....both say the other suck. Why can't the same be true for bikes as well if someone wants to present their opinions why? But you decide to halt a good read, because you feel some sort of affection to the assless chap wearing pirates. Instead of shutting down the thread….how about presenting an alternative opinion and a little less PC BS? Kind of like what happens on this thread….Now that would be a new idea…wouldn’t it?

But the Red Sox do Fucking SUCK! I will bash them as long as my Fucking NY Yankee hat, T-Shirts, Pajamas, sweatpants, underwear and sweatshirts last - or until they throw me out of the fan club! :D

Nicely done, Kingmoham. An assertive, clear response. Before the internet when criticism if the world of motorcycles was more localized and infrequent, the broadest and harshest critics of motorcycles were harley riders. "Jap Crap" was always used for UJM's, and British bikes were often belittled thusly - "Classic? Classic piece of shit". I am of that generation and began forming my attitudes of hd then. I forgot that the younger guys into motorcycles now really would not have a clear idea of that.

All right, folks, you've had your say, and Sweat has defended himself.

We've all had our gripes about RatNet's moderating practices. And we agreed early on that there's little point bitching about it here because we're not going to change RatNet's practices. Furthermore, Shawn's the captain of that ship and can do whatever the hell he wants with it, no matter how we may feel about it.

And is it really necessary to direct personal insults at Sweatmachine? I'd like to think that we can rise above that sort of thing here... or at least avoid turning it into a battlefield.

I'm not going to force matters by locking this thread, but I also feel that it's not contributing anything valuable to the forum. So can we please move on and leave this topic alone?
