Many of us up here in rural Vermont have our own ranges. Mine uses the 30 foot thick base of a pond as a backstop and would handle anything short of a 40mm grenade launcher. Gawd how I miss those old bloopers!

Jimmy - I hope your kidding! Please do not risk transporting any weapons interstate. We can use there stuff up there if we hit the range to blow off some rounds.

Since it is my BIG 50 on Monday it is Johnny's Birthday Weekend. Tomorrow i will spend the day with one of my buddies at no less than 6 different gun shops prowling around to see if anything interests me. I am definitely buying an HK45c, it is just a matter of pricing now. I think i found a dealer that I'm very comfortable spending almost 1K for the piece. Ya got to love going into a good gun shop - nothing like it for me! :D

You mean I can't tuck my 1911-a1 in my tank bag?

I Have a shooting range and an archery range here at home. The wife just won't let me get a .50 cal barrett or any other .50 cal. You should of seen her eyes when we watched the shooting gallery and a 9year girl was shooting .50's in a match in Ohio. I will be up for some plinking around, maybe on Sunday. I have monday off so I don't have to run back home.

Brett - you actually could because you are traveling from Main to VT where your CCP will be legal. My CCP is no good going through NY and MASS but is good once I get inside of VT. However, I choose NOT to risk illegally transporting firearms through States that don't recognize my permit.

I haven't completed the ccp process yet. In Maine I could carry the pistol on the dash of the bike(if it would stay there), clip in the other bag, ammo in the other side bag.

I got stopped speeding last summer about a week after I was scouting a hunting area. Forgot I put my .45 in the center console, clips in the glovebox then went into the store. Read a newspaper then went home. A week later state police pulled me over to tell me I was speeding, the clips fell out of the glove box when I got my registration. He asked me if I had a firearm......UUUUHHHHH YeS Sir! Pulled the pistol out of the center console in a manner so he could see everything. He actually laughed when I answered no the the ccp question. He then told me how to get the process started, wanted to check out my .45 to make sure it wasn't loaded. Told me to have good day and let me go. Now I carry the .45 on the dash while driving ammo locked in the glove box. I will not carry it on the Sprint until the ccp process is finished.

I shall use the ones offered while I'm there if that is cool.

Get it again before the election - there is a lot of chatter about them clamping down on the CCP's and the 10 year ban might come back on assault rifles.

I think the brand new 2nd generation HK45c is now $850 with the dollar getting ass-fucked by the Euro. If it is a 1st Generation from earlier this year it will be around $799. If you can do better than $850 for the 2nd generation I would appreciate it. The difference between the 1st generation and 2nd generation is that the 2nd generation has a bigger slide notch and the stamping is deeper and more profound and the Blueing is deeper and richer.

Gotcha I am not real up to date on HK unless we are talking shotguns. I prefer the old 1911 frame it fits my hand well and over the years of shooting comp I have learned how to get a good hand fit and grip. I got to shoot a USP40 but didn't really care for it. Its like anything else it is what your used to and what you like. Is your email in your profile?

Jimmy,

I love the way my 1911 fits my hand, I don't really have to move my thumb to drop the clip. Now all I need to do is get it accurized. It shoots good but I want a bushing-less barrel with a comp on it. I tend to be very relaxed when I shoot so there is a appearance of extreme power from the muzzle flip. If you know anyone that is good with the 1911 and make it very accurate I would loveto tlka to them. I had some work done to it to make it more reliable while using 180gr to 230gr semi-wad cutters to round nose bulletts. Have you ever shot the MP5? It is one of my holy grail smgs, second only to the thompson. I just lack the disposable income to buy them.
