Took a cruise

Postby lzrdking61 » Sun Apr 27, 2008 8:49 am

Scoping out the route I want to take to Bennington yesterday. took Rte. 31 out of Holden Ma. where I keep my bike. Up to Rte. 119, 119 through NH to Burlington Vt. Picked up Rte.9 in Burlington and took it across to Bennington. A great ride with lots of good cruising. Rte. 9 is a frickin ball. Lots of hills and twisty's. Climbing lanes on the up hills to blow by, err pass, the slower moving traffic. About 135 miles into Bennington and a great ride the whole way. This will probably be the way I will go but with a month to go this could change.

I think I'm going to take Rt 22 up as I have taken Rt 7 too many times already. Something new.

I think you mean Brattleboro right? Burlington is WAY north. I think Brattleboro has some public nudity law that allows it, so there's a chance the scenery could be much better come June 1st :D I think I remember Rt 31 from my Worcester days, good stuff!! Some great roads in and around Mt Wachussett.

I think the situation is that Brattleboro just doesn't have a law AGAINST public nudity. It came to public attention because a bunch of teenagers decided to start hanging out naked, and they weren't breaking any laws so there wasn't anything the cops/whoever could do about it.

Yeah. To many "B" towns in Vt. Burlington, Bennington, Brattleboro, Bristol..... But now you got me thinking. It would be a very nice, very long one day ride. Or a nice weekend ride. Think I will be doing a bunch of riding in Vt. this summer. Just got to keep finding good roads. Route 9 is about as big as I like them. I love the smaller off the beaten path routes. I usually just start riding and make a choice when I get to an intersection.

Dude a nice LONG ride would be to take 100 alllll the way up. Don't forget to hit Ben n Jerry's on the way :)

Mark I think you're right about that law, I knew it was some loophole thing.

Don't forget Fellows Balls on the list of B names.

Anyone who can take Rte. 116 out of Deerfield, MA up to Bennington is in for a superb road for sport bikes. One of my favorites.
