Friday 5/30 Center of Operations

Postby hankspeed3 » Mon May 19, 2008 5:50 pm

Ok,
this is going to sound silly but I may be coming in on Thursay Night and probably looking to ride Friday. Praying for good weather. Where is the meeting point in Bennington? What is the center of operations? What is the phone number? Should we have a cell phone numbers list page/thread of everyone's numbers so we can contact one another? Depending on what time I get in, do we want to hook up for Dinner on Thursday night? Its not as important to me as I will be staying in Shaftsbury with a friend but it would be nice to know I could reach you guys.

Just askin'

Hank

Robin's place would be nice, but only if you buy something so her sales are inflated and she'll have more profit to show prospective buyers! She also has great coffee there! ;)

Hey Robin, do you have a bulletin board where we could post our locations (rooms or campsites) as we arrive?

Robin is currently being held captive in my cave in Alabama. I will release her tomorrow to return to Bennington. I have asked her for replies to your queries.

hankspeed she will be at the cafe until about 4 Thursday night. As for telephone numbers.

Robin cell 802-733-6849
Cafe 802-447-2433

Randy Taylor and myself Mr Bonniegirl(Paul) will also be in town on Thursday. My cell is
205-835-1731.

Robin will also have a central location for contact info in the cafe. You may have to ask the person behind the counter. All the staff will know what is going on.

Not sure at this point what day I'll arrive or from which direction as three hours is just not a long enough ride. Might dip down into SW New Hampshire and come up that way, or via the Adirondacks, Poconos, etc.

Any way, my cell (802) 279-7647

I'm gonna stop in thursday on my way thru in the afternoon. I guess I'll stop at the cafe?

Friday morning I'm getting my ears lowered at 9, then grabbing a bagel with Matt in Manchester and heading down. I'd like to catch a lunch run to the diner everyone keeps talking about. Sound good hank?

Kinda a shame we can't private message on this board it would be nice for cell numbers, etc. Anyway mine is 631-664-8651. Don't be surprised if I don't answer :)

Benny,
I may not be down there until late afternoon, on thurs, so I would probably miss lunch. Un less you thinking Fridays day ride. Anyway, I was just wondering if there is some place, and it sounds like Robins Cafe, where ever that is, and it will kind of act as the center of operations, is that true for the entire weekend?....

Mark, I think I still have your number. I haven't tried it in about 2 years.

The cafe is in the middle of town. If you stand smack dab in the middle of Main St where it intersects with North and South St(just one road, it's North St on the north side of Main and South St on the south side of Main) and look south, the cafe is on the right. The address is 105 South St. It is, The South Street Cafe.

Mark or Robin will have to answer that center of operations question.

My cell# -203-228-4108. As Benny stated I will be meeting him about 9 AM in Manchester and we'll be riding back to Bennington. I'll be heading up from CT on Thurs about 3 PM, possibly with Mark(CTSPEED) from the BA.com forum. See you in 9 wake ups.

Because a couple of parking lots have been mentioned in other posts, I'm not sure where the Friday night tire kicking will take place. Is it still the central parking lot just north of RT 9 behind Main Street? Or is it behind Robin's Cafe? Or is it up at the place near the Paradise Inn? Sorry, I forgot the name. A car museum or such. Was that the last place mentioned? They were going to open up just for us, if I recall.

Hey, I could check the itinerary here that Mark worked so hard at! Duh.

I'd hate to be hanging around the wrong lot waiting for everyone and miss the event! Oh, I get it. I just opened myself up for wrong directions!!! Like the kid playing hide and seek and no one looks for him.

That's okay, it hasn't changed in at least six or seven years. Maybe more.

Regarding central location for Friday -- yes, Robin's cafe. Tito and I are planning on being there by 11am so we can drop off our stuff, have a cup of coffee, then meet up with whoever wants to ride over to Putney for some BBQ. You should join us, Hank. And you too, Benny. And everyone else who wants to come along.

Mark and Hedge,
After the Putney run, as I understand it, for those coming up on Friday who won't be part of the Putney lunch, we'll all meet at the Depot street parking lot for the "gathering" of bikes around 5:00PM or so. Is this correct?

The "Ugly Ass Monkey Gang" will be rolling in between 2pm and 3:30pm depending on how uber laid back we become - but we will not be joining you for BBQ on Friday lunch. We will be lunching at Toymakers at 12pm and then moving on North from there so we will see you in the afternoon for the Opening Tire Kicking Ceremony! :)
