That Vespa tattoo sounds pretty badass there, Touko. Good thing I'm bringing my Harley guy or I'da been all over you. ;)

its too late to re-debate this, but harley guys will be harley guys, and the first one that shows up and blaaaaaaatttttttttttttts his fucking shorty drag pipes, like and idiot,he'll get the look of shame and dissappointment from us and the disgraced look of people shaking their heads and us turning our backs to them. So all you guys with the friends with the "loud pipes saves lives" attitudes, kindly remind them this is the Bennington Triumph Bash. They are welcome to be here but respect the invite. Don't come in and blat your pipes at every stop sign and give the event a bad name. Time to eat a little humble pie their mr and mrs hd rider. OK?

My Bonneville is louder then just about any Harley around here D&Ds gotta love them. Does that mean I am not allowed to come to the Triumph bash . Its so loud it sets off car alarms I love pulling up to a traffic light next to a HD and blipping my throttle makes them into little puppy dogs.

Thanks Hedge.

Bill and Jim, you know exactly what I mean. Good for you. Way to set those goals boys. I have the complete Arrow from the exhaust manifold and back on my speed triple. On todays bikes they have advanced carbs and/or FI systems and there is no need to blip, they'll idel just fine. But if you want to ....hey nock yourself out.

FWIW, I have never told anyone, I mean anyone, here to ..."Fuck off". But very well put Bill. See you guys on Friday.

I wanted to put straight pipes on the ole sprint. The wife about shit when I started it with out the mufflers on it. Her bike has a race exhaust that is louder than my stock mufflers, quiter that straight pipes.

Just remember "loud pipes, save lives" was intended to save the lives of non-harley owning car drivers who weren't paying attention while driving. I can't wait to hear all of the brit bikes barking their beautiful exhaust tones. Hat's off to them.

thats right bret!

There is nothing like the sound of a Triumph triple, or twin. Sept maybe a ducati twin. Hell, I love the sound of most bikes. But to sit in the parking lot, red lining your bike, and blat at every stop light, ....I'm sure the locals in small town bennington would greatly support the notion of "less is more" in that regard. No need to name call or to tell someone to "fuck off" if you think this post is pointed at you becasue its not, its just a friendly reminder to everyone that there is a good possibility that they would invite us all back next year if we just show a little controll.

Hell the dry clutch on my Ducati is louder than most bikes. In my case, "loud clutches save lives."

Well put again Hank! I have very loud Predators - but do not find it necessary to annoy the rest of the world with them at every stop light with 2 huge thumbs on each of my hands pointing to each of my shoulders saying, "LOOK AT ME, AREN'T I COOL, DON'T YOU JUST WISH YOU COULD BE ME!" Excuse the screaming but I had to do that so you could hear me over my LOUD pipes!

Ok, Fuck off may have been a little harsh. It was not meant to be directed at any one in particular.
It was more at were this thread was heading to all you Harley bashers who stereotype people who ride them.
I felt the same way about any one that would ride a sport bike on the street thinking they
were on a race track.
But, I grew up and realized that there are different strokes for different folks.
I don't care what you ride or what you wear when you ride. It is all good to me as long as you ride.
Yes I will wear a bandanna, ass less chaps and I hate fucking helmets.
I love loud pipes and I will blip the throttle at stops signs.
Does that make me a gay pirate ?

I will be making noise, burnouts and lots of wheelies! That is why I ride a Triumph Speed Triple! Otherwise I would be riding a FUCKING moped!

That said, I will be loud! Wear earplugs if you like!

Let's make some noise!

I find myself shifting up and bring my rpms down when around town so that not to draw attention. I want the people of Bennington to welcome the extra crowd and wish we would come back not wish we would leave. Tito no wheelies in town you have been warned LOL. Hey off to a more someber note we lost a rider yesterday pulled a wheelie set it down tank slapper and fell off the bike and run over by the car beside him. I think I am going to be mister under the radar . Hank my 916 was loud and really fuckin fast wish I had the money to get a 998.
