FRIDAY 5/30/08 AT 11:30AM PUTNEY RIDE TO CURTIS BBQ

Postby TonUp » Mon May 26, 2008 4:56 pm

For those who want to join us for the Curtis BBQ Lunch on Friday, we will be meeting at the South Street Cafe (Jct Rt 7 & Rt 9) at 11:15am and departing to Putney VT on Route 9 East at 11:30am, find a place to park on Main Street and we will coordinate not losing anyone at the Cafe. We should be in Putney by 1:15-1:30pm. I plan on taking it easy!

Hope you can join us!

Beautiful ride and great food.

We want to be back in Bennington before 4:30pm to meet and greet everyone.

Tito

I'll be there. If nothing else we could just pick a parking lot nearby to line up in and head out from.

depending on how many we may want to stagger several groups about 5 or 10 minutes apart so its not one big parade all the way there. Lots of shit happens when the groups get over 5 or 6.

I'm going to plan on making this one, though depending on when I set out I might have to just meet you there and ride back to Bennington with you.

I agree with Tito on the large group thing. This past Sunday I rode VT Thunder with 400 other bikers (396 of them on Harleys so loud it took three hits of my ignition button before I realized my Tiger was purring along already!)

After that experience I am fully embracing Triumph's motto, "Go your own way!"

I'll be there!

Is Friday's BBQ ride really going to be that big that we need to think about staggering groups? If so- Bummer.

Hey All!

Three of us (Speed Triple, Daytona, Sprint) coming from Southern NH...leaving Friday Morning. It looks like we are going to plan on going directly to Putney (the long way) for some BBQ and new friends (and catch up with some old ones). Any idea what your ETA may be?

We are so looking forward to this! :-D

See you soon!

Paula, no biggie. I think maybe 10 bikes tops. More on the way home. Two groups isn't bad....

Route 9 west!!!

Postby TonUp » Tue May 27, 2008 4:42 pm

Can we just ride, without freaking out about groups?

For the pace we are taking groups of 12-15 bikes is ok. If needed we can ride in multiple groups. We are not going on a parade. So relax and enjoy the ride.

We will go over directions beforehand and pick a stop point on RT9 to make sure we did not loose any one.

There may be more than you think Ceasar.

I mean, its ok with me, but the propensity for shit to happen increases dramatically when the groups get over 6 or 7 riders per.

Its not like chips, its not like the (insert your favorite hated brand here), those humpty dumpties, riding side by side is for tv, police escorts and parking. If you know what I mean.

Hey Hank! I'm doing well. I'm so looking forward to this weekend. It should be a good time.

Be sure to look for my buddy from PA and introduce yourself. He also rides a blue Sprint ST from PA (plate says WHTOWL I think). He will be arriving Thurs. night and will meet up with you guys for the BBQ ride. I've mentioned MEME to him but you may want to do your "hard sell"...maybe we can get him to come up for that one also. Matt and I just signed up for MEME (yesterday) so we're all set for that event also (another something special to look forward to this summer).

...and by the way... I'm pretty sure Matt and I owe you a couple of beers. ;-)
