that part of the parking lot is a town owned municaipal lot. we may ba able to BBQ there, but there is no alcohol on municipal property. in a perfect world, we'd need to find a privately owned lot, downtown or close, with a friendly landowner. many of them own property in bennington, but live out of town or state.

no one had the common courtesy to bother to inform me as to the identity of the individuals receiving the benefit of my gracious gifts of craftsmanship...much less a simple "thank you", beyond Mark's stand-up initial response.

while I'm not expecting an ass kissing, I do expect a certain level of respect and appreciation..

thus far, I remain relatively unimpressed...which speaks volumes for any future effort on my part.

I was hoping for a
"it went down this way"
...or a
"it didn't work out for these reasons"

...something beyond "sucker" would have been nice.

Modre, sorry for the lack of response on our part post-Bash.

The raffle ended up taking a good half hour or so -- so many people had lost their tickets or forgotten to bring them that we basically had to start over handing them out at the Saturday dinner to all who didn't have theirs, which meant that there was quite a lot of confusion during the raffle itself. I'd say that we probably called out at least one or two numbers that went unclaimed for every number that did get claimed.

Furthermore, there were a lot of individual pieces to raffle off, between your generous donations and Hedge's 8-ball choke pulls and the large number of t-shirts that Great Bay sent us and the items that Cyclewise donated. Unfortunately, we didn't think to have someone take pictures of each person receiving their items.

Please don't let Billy's post above get you down -- obviously not every item makes everyone happy. There was a can of S100 bike wash that went to a guy who never washes his bike; he ended up giving it to someone else. Many of Hedge's choke pulls went to people whose bikes don't even have chokes.

Rest assured that the other BTB organizers and I are very appreciative of your generosity -- and even if I don't recall who the other recipients were aside from Billy, I do remember seeing smiles on their faces.

And by the way, I heard a lot of people saying, "It sucks that Modre couldn't make it here."

Rick - I think Billy is just fucking with you because he has no real reason to insult you like that. He was probably just fucking with your feelings. My buddy Dave who I was having dinner with that Saturday night won the whole package . . . but he rides a BMW so he graciously gave it away. He asked me first if i wanted the jack and oil cap tool and I told him that I already had the Jack & I couldn't use the oil cap tool because i have the NB oil temp gauge there. However, I eyeballed that beautiful lathe turned shock adjuster and asked him to give that some immediate direction my way. I am the proud owner of that useful piece of craftsmanship!

Alright I guess that was a little harsh. I should of just kept it to my self.
But really, a ground down washer and a piece of turned down metal is useless junk to me.
Maybe some one else could find a use for them but, I could not give them away.
It was still very generous to send them along.

My bike is very fast I've had her up to 125 mph with more to go.
I do wish I had went on your ride but I was not up for 300 miles.

I still had a blast with Brian/ lzrdking61 my partner in crime.
We made up our own ride.
There is some beautiful riding up there and I can't wait till next year.

Modre, your items don't fit my style of bike, however If my father-in-law finishes our norton commando I do see a use of the jack bolt as a possible pit tool so I don't need the big bulkie stands. I will keep you posted.
