Slowly trudging upward from Dark Abyss

Postby Speedblastr » Thu Jul 03, 2008 10:14 am

Things are getting a little better , as I have accepted the here and now , for now. I have received my first disability check , which will help defer some of these bills. The Hospital is already looking for payment. ( It was a big deal in the newspaper about taking care of payments firsthand from the area Hospitals) Like I carry $18,000 in my back pocket. I told the lady over the phone "How about I pay you $10,000 upfront for the heart attack I'm going to have a year from now."
I'll just have to take this stuff one day at a time. It ain't easy. But of course , nothing ever has been handed down to me on a silver platter in my lifetime.
I'm getting pretty good on crutches these days. I've had to use them before. Same leg. Crushed my ankle on a large cc Yamaha moto-cross bike back in 83'? (I realized after that accident that Jack Daniels and 357's [speeders] Don't mix with bike.
That's all I got for now... it's been raining the last 12 hours. Speed.

No great words of wisdom here bro.
Like you said one day at a time.
That is all we have, some days are better then others and all this too will pass.
You will be up and running again before you know it.
and all the fucking bills will still be coming in.
You do what you can do and that is all you can do.
Hang in there my brother and I will see you again next BTB or sooner.

Nothing profound to say either but do hope recovery comes faster everday. So how long do you think it will be before getting back in the saddle?

Go back in to Orthpaedics on 081008 until then , still no weight on leg as ordered by the Doc. I'm positive therapy will follow that. Trying to get a little bendability in the ankle now. I did find one thing out. I can't raise my big toe. Maybe Fall ? My Bro Jimmy said don't rush it. Heal. I was glad that he called me today. Speed.

Therapy is good!! I'm friends with a few PTs, they know their stuff. I didn't do as much as I should when I broke my leg at 15, and I can still tell the difference.... Keep it up, and do the "homework" the asign, and you'll be good to go!
02 BA, lots of goodies...

Steve - good to hear from you. I know how it can be but if your breaking it up to one day at a time you can handle it! If it becomes to difficult break it down to 1 hour at a time and Easy Does It! Don't worry about the bills, it will somehow work out! We are promised that if we stay the course, no matter what, "Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us!"
Happy 4th of July to you and your family and to all the BTB Brothers and Sisters!

Jimmy - as much as I want to blow some shit up today I shall refrain! I will bring a 100 shot cake over to my friends party and light that sucker off but that's about it for me. I rode this morning . . . ton-up twice on I-95. The highway was deserted. Happy 4th fellas!

Oh BTW - I cooked up some of Hedge's World Famous Chili to bring to the cook-out today at my High School buddy's yearly reunion. I'm planning on a couple of German Chili cheese dogs! For those of you who are unfamiliar with German Hot Dogs, they have the skin still on them and they get all crunchy when you grill them. My favorites are the Deutschmacher hot dogs! I take them and split them down the side, grill them and then slop on some of my famous chili mixed with Velveeta Cheese, some raw onions and an ice cold Coca-Cola and I'm in Fucking Heaven! :D

Every time I play with something that goes boom they either tear the place down or make some unplanned renovations. Besides who's the jackass that's half deaf?

Happy fourth everbody!!!

I think the biggest adjustment is being with my family 24/7. Yes Jimmy , LOL you hit it right on the head.
Otherwise trying to keep busy within my capabilities.

Listen to this and sit back and enjoy you have family and you have survived shit creek with out the fuckin oar. Man no matter how bad shit looks there is always someone in worse shape and your sitting there noding your head saying your right . When the shit finally falls from the fan blades and they lower you into the hole your worth is judge by how many friends you have standing next to the hole . Glad to be able to call you a friend and will be there then and now peace and enjoy the time with your family.
