My tribute to Milo

Postby b_mason » Wed Jun 18, 2008 8:32 pm

While coming home tonight this song played in my head while I was replaying Milo and Nisha's ride in the rain past Robins cafe Saturday. They found the road was flooded and had to turn back. Ride free MIlo!

in honor of the friggin hemp fest that is coming

Postby b_mason » Wed Jul 09, 2008 9:37 pm

Yes that is right, some drug addict is having a hempfest in my town. He is doing it on private property, no charge so the local sheriff can't touch him. I don't apologize for my stand on this. I saw first hand what drugs did to me. I know I drink but drinking never made me broke, brain dead, or drooling on myself. If you know me outside of BTB you would see that the beer and alcohol in my house is used for cooking. Man Jeff this is when I wish you lived near here so you could fuck this idea up.

sorry I feel better now.
listen and feel my words.

One of the better Steppenwolf songs for sure! I don't have a huge prob with weed in theory, altho I've never smoked it (yes I know, from Vermont, never smoked pot, SHOCKER!!), but it's like the whole glass of wine with dinner thing. Sure it may lower your risk of heart attack by X percent, but you're WAY more likely to become an alcoholic than prevent a heart attack! So I guess I avoid it just to keep my sanity. A good beer here and there and I'm happy.

Side sidenote... Went to a BBQ saturday, someone actually brought some Sam Adams to an otherwise budwiser party, and people were like "Oh no, I'll get fucked up too fast" or "I dunno if I'll like it" like it was some foreign, never before seen drink! Couldn't believe it. Oh no, flavor!!! For shame!!

OK rant over :D

How bout some music?
Jeff Buckley. Amazing song. Aparently it's a cover? Leonard Cohen maybe?

Benny, You should pm hedge about the Zep music. Man he knows his stuff.

I cann't name one Zep song as my favorite. It would be more like all of them, If forced to name them I would start with this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBsbCMIy ... re=related

Then end the list with this one as my favorite. If this was t_mobile it there would be 5 songs in 5 favs.

I kinda like that Kid Rock song too. Excellent ripoff of both Warewolves of London AND Sweet Home Alabama. They go together well :)

Here's my favorite version of Sweet Home. Heard this version on a Bose sampler CD.

As for Zep, my only regret is I don't know all the names to all the songs. It's not like Sweet Home, where the title IS the refrain of the song, ya know? Like Traveling Riverside Blues. Never really says that in the song. I just love how heavy they manage to make everything. Friggin JPJ doubles Page's guitar parts on bass, sounds awesome.

Agreed Benny. I really love to orignal blues guitar master that Zep put the electric soul in to.

Then clapton brought up the other side of guitar work with this one. This is still my favorite version.

Can anyone explain what malted milk means in the 30's? I have never seen it to relieve any of my issues no matter how much I drank......of course mine is carnation malt mixed with milk. It makes some wonderful milkshakes.

Of course Robert Johnson new what it was.
