Ice storm from Hell. ( Indiana) 12/19/08

Power is back up now.I can't believe it. Power went out at work,[8:00A], which was a bitch getting there in the first place, [11 mi.] to be sent home[10:00A]due to ice covering {1 inch} on the power grids, lines, trees roads,on everything, to having power out at home;10,000 customers out in this county alone....... this fucking North Pole ass shit has got to go> Phone ground line out, electric out ,uh-oh , need heat and refrigeration= generator.
Folks it looks like an Atom Bomb hit around here. 1/3 of the trees are broken,Some are drooping over and a lot are lying in the streets,They've broken over the high tension city pole to house wires which the limbs have plummeted directly on to and quite literally ripped them right out (spark city) of the roof conduit that leads to the fuse box.{ 4 or 5 houses on this block alone} It's FUBAR around here.Glad we are up and running [10:00P] they projected Sunday at [1:00P] Grateful. :) Silence = Not good for me ! LOL
I have more Info on the Campground, the actual layout , I'll get it posted ASAP. Speed.
PEACE.

Glad you're up and running! PEople were (still are?) out of power in much of New England after last week's ice storm. We got mostly snow yesterday with a crusty layer on top, more to come tommorrow too. Should get interesting...

Edit : Still 100,000 out of power in sub-zero. talking wed. before full restoration. (HaHa) They've opened the Memorial Coliseum as a shelter + numerous other shelters.
Think two story house ; frozen water pipes up above , ceiling down below = Trouble.
Some less fortunate and fortunate will be staying in the shelters. ( Generators)
Not everyone has kerosene heaters but I bet there has been a bum rush on those.
I hate fucking winter !
Is it the end of May yet ?
Speed.

We had one of those fuckin things here back about ten years ago power was out for 7 days and no fuel for the generators or K1 for heaters cause every fuckin place needs power to pump fuel. I fold a guy who had a fuel truck siting in his driveway and traded him food for K1 and his buddy owned the company and he sold me some gas out of the other truck we did okay but it sucks. Thats why I dont live in Alaska fuck the winter weather.

We had a massive ice storm here in 1998. I was without power here in Burlington for about two days, but there were people in upstate NY that didn't have power restored for a month or so. That was a mess.

We just had an Ice storm about a week and half ago. It was snow then ice. Last nights storm brought us 2 feet of snow in about 8 hours. I woke up with snow covering my tundra. When I finaaly made it down the drive snow was coming over my hood, not blowing over but coming over from being to deep. I get to work and had to dig out about 7 cars just so we could plow. This global warming thing fucking sucks, AL GORE! I thought we would be riding all winter long, not moving 10 cubic yards of snow so we can work.

I'm glad your ok speed. I think everyone has felt the sting of mother natures ice storms. Keep us posted.
