Winter duldrums enter to read......

Postby b_mason » Sun Jan 25, 2009 3:25 pm

Oh how I miss this days

Tossing butterflies at my friend
Hear their screams as their life ends
Never bother looking back
Butterfly guts, on top of gnats.

Butterfly, does not have to die
If a little higher he would fly
and he might even survive the splat
If Butterfly were ATGATT.

Prius driver, won't hit the butterfly
He should move over, or he will die
I leave him with this, as i pass
My huge carbon footprint, on his ass

Thank you to whoever posted this orignally.

yes, that was me. Paul was behind me on the blue ridge parkway when we hit a swarm of butterflies, and he told me later it looked like i was tossing butterflies over my shoulder.

That was a great ride, and I am looking forward to doing it again.

Knitting? WTF? I don't know about you guys, but I addressed my winter doldrums by going for a ride on Saturday. It was only 10 degrees out, but the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the roads were mostly dry. Honda started up with no fuss other than a little sluggishness when I first hit the starter button, and the ride was most enjoyable despite being bundled up in so many layers of clothes that I could barely move (must order heated vest).

I discovered that I actually really like riding in the winter. The warmth issue is easy to solve; just got to figure out the traction one, since most of the winter here the roads have a film of greasy slush all over them. I need a Ural!

Matt -

I'm just about to pull the trigger on the Total Control class in Troy on May 31st. It was originally scheduled for Sat, but they moved it to Sunday. The price is a bit steep, but given what we pay for the MSF BRC it seems like a good deal.

I thought Randy did an excellent job of writing this poem.

Excellent content. Dying butterflies and gnats as well as possible death to prius drivers and carbon footprints on someones ass, and it's a true story.

We were on the Skyline Drive where the speed limit is only about 12mph and this prius clown was doing about 6. (Both numbers are very slight exagerations)
I think we did about 90 before we lifted after passing the guy.

I also look forward to the return trip this year. It can only get better with three of us instead if two.

Jommy better not count me out on a hog hunt. I'll bring the bow then we can write, that way it is about triumphs, beer, hunting. I don't care what the rednecks say there is no country song about that.

I would be more than happy to give pointers and advise to anyone willing to learn. We do have quite a bit of talent at the BASH.
