Getting ready for the BTB!!!

Postby b_mason » Sat Feb 28, 2009 1:28 pm

I spent 3 hours getting the bike out of the shed so I can get it ready for the BTB. No there is no trick photography here. Just the constructive use of plywood to get this far.

Man, you got some funny-looking dirt up there in Maine...looks sorta like snow.

Yeah tell me about it.

The dealer was sorta grinding to a halt in the work arena, so I struggled to dig it out today and haul it down to them in trade for some discounts. Besides now it is in a climate control garage till that funny looking dirt melts.

New toys for my trip.......

Aerostich combat boots, Triumph Acton jacket, Hennessey Hammock. I think this is going to be a great year for bike trips.

Brett,
If your planning on living in the Hennessy for BTB, check with the campground first. Last year I found out they are not fond of hammocks. I'm goin with a tent.

Yeah, some campgrounds are pretty particular. Once I camped in MA for a TIOC event, called first [good thing] and they asked about that. My plan was a tent leanto off of the bike. They said "NO, gotta have a tent, camper, etc."
Thought that was odd, but what the hell, it's their campground. :)

hey guys, thanks for the input on this. As it turns out the tent is on backorder and the spring maintenance on the bike is costing a little bit mroe than normal this year so I will not be aquiring a hennessey this spring. I will be buying a small but cheap tent to sleep in for the weekened. I will still pack a small tarp in hopes of setting up a covered area to get out of the rain.

Oh OH, Brett said the R word. Fuck it. Rain rain rain rain rain rainity fuckin rain. There, it's fully out in the open. Now let me think......last year it rained on Sat. (everyone new it was going to) and we all still had a great time. Checked with weatherunderground.com and it has rained on that Sat 6 out of 10 times in the last decade. I'm going to say there will be no rain; I'm going to think there will be no rain; I'm even going to offer a couple beers (but first I'll have to strain them through the kidneys) just to put some insurance on it. Hmmm.........better get a tarp too. This is gonna be fun!!!
